The US Senate voted 98-0 to protect newborns from infanticide. Even some of the women who Rush Limbaugh refers to as feminazis thought Obama went too far in opposing a nearly identical bill in the Illinois State Senate. Mainstream liberals should not be tarred with Barack Obama's extremist views unless they defend those positions.

Just trying to emphasize just how extreme Obama's positions were until he decided to run for POTUS. He was to the left of the extreme left. Not many candidates could reach to his right to tab Joe Biden as a running mate.

The latest Zogby Poll shows McCain up one.

Essentially a dead heat, but what is telling is that this pick and the timing of it has blunted the convention bounce.

Gallop still has BO up 8, however.

No doubt the Conservative base has been energized.

One other thing I haven't seen mentioned, this pick also throws a fly in the ointment of McCain being an extension of Bush, because Palin is definitely not Dick Cheney.

Do you think the United States was free from foreign threats in the 19th century? The last time U.S. mainland territory was invaded was in the 19th century. England and France both supported the Confederacy in its war against the Union during the U.S. Civil War. The U.S. fought wars with Mexico just a few years before the U.S. Civil War. The world has been a dangerous place for the United States from the very beginning, arguably far more before World War II.

I am sure Palin is reading some books on Foreign Policy, just as McCain is reading some books to learn about Economics.

I figure Biden is reading some books and plans on using lines from those books as his own.

As I recall, at least from the history books I've read, we didn't have nukes back in the days of Lincoln. If we did and I didn't know about it, perhaps you can start a thread about it and try to make your case. If you can't see the difference between now and then, well...

 

Obama is totally inexperienced, he has no executive experience whatsoever. He also has shown poor judgment time and again. Palin is at least tough, something I don't see Obama ever being. He's running for the #1 position. If Obama had been a senator for at least 4 more years, it wouldn't be problem, but as it is it is a huge one. If it was Obama vs Palin for the #1 spot right now, you'd have a case, a slim one, but a case.

After her debut in Dayton and a rush of media coverage, a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that 53% now have a favorable opinion of Palin while just 26% offer a less flattering assessment.

 

It is a little early to put too much stock in any of these polls because most Americans have only seen Palin in action once, if that.

 

So which is it? Is it too early to put much stokc in polls or not?
