Chad claims he could beat Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps:

Featured Replies

I do not agree with the statement bolded above. T.O, although a character, is a very emotional hard working player. He creates a stir because he wants to be surrounded by teammates that work as hard as he does on his conditioning, physique and his game. He lets his game do most of his talking lately and Chad should do the same.

Chad is a great player but man he is only about one thing and that is "getting the media's attention" and acting like a goofball. He is just trying to steal some thunder here and get his name in the news.

I think he is working hard in practice this training camp which is nice to see but man he burned his bridge with many Bengal Fans and we know what he is all about.

Another thing, regarding his 1400 receiving yards last season, although that is a ton, I cant remember any huge games where it actually meant something. Many of his big yardage games were in losses

I agree with you quote as well except for the bolded. I beleive that T.O. is a great reciever and can be clutch as well. As for the other, he is a media hog just like C.J., always wants the media and cameras on him. I beleive we all remember the suicide fiasco along with many other incidents everywhere he has ever been:rolleyes:. Both are ego maniacs.

I do especially agree with you on C.J. has to deliver when it means something, when he does not, he pulls a T.O. and starts going off on and about teammates, coaches, team management. popcorn vendor, ushers, ticket sales or anyone else except himself.:irked:

When Chad shuts his mouth, is on the field everyday not wanting to be traded and the Bengals win games then I will take a little better liking to his "sense of humor" until then I'm sick of the me guy in a team game!

I know it was a joke but I don't care. Some people don't see through Chad and that's fine but for me right now he is a me guy in the ultimate team sport. He's asked for the spotlight on hiim but only wants it when it's positive. When it's negative he pouts and feels like he is picked on. This is the same guy two months ago trying like crazy to bail on his team!

The comments Chad had in the offseason are why I can't stand the guy. Has nothing to do with the Bengals either. Simply hate how he ran his trap this off season. He put his coach, quarterback, and teammates in a bad position. Now he's trying to be funny, which is a non-issue IMO. Sadly, for him, unless the Bengals can win, he'll fade into the sunset with fantastic numbers and won't receive much accolade. Frankly, the way he's handled his "business", I couldn't feel more upset for him when he ends up just an answer on the back of a trivia card. 10 yrs from now, kids will say, Chad Who?

Both of these post back up everything I have said about #85 (my future reference to him)

So if everyone that makes a joke is classless, I guess there's no one with any class left...Seriously, why does everyone overreact whenever Chad does anything?

JMO but #85 brings it all on himself.

(by the way, I love the avatar..:thumb:)

CJ= Leon for the Bud commercials

Now that is a good analogy.

I think this is hilarious. Chad doesn't care what he says and probaly believes he could win. Since Phelps is obvious the favorite and everyone likes the underdog, wouldn't Chad be the fan favorite???

David v/s Goliath or more like New England v/s the Giants?

Ever since he took that hit over the middle I believe it was two years ago, he has changed. I wouldn't worry about the comments.

It's called sarcasm. Chad is very funny, creative dude. Most people just don't get him.

Definitely not in this case...take a pole, but I think people would much rather see Phelps dust him.

Disagree about TO. He is as hard a worker as you're going to find in the NFL, and he wants to win more than anyone. He gets a bad rap because when he doesn't feel he's surrounded with guys that work like he does, he speaks out about it.

Hard to believe a lot of people turned on T.O. (those who hadn't already turned on him after S.F.) over something that started because Donovan was complaining about being out of breath and dry heaving while T.O. was playing with a broken leg.

That's why I find the "TO is all about TO" arguement so insane. The man played against doctor's wishes on a broken leg, and was the best receiver on the field, yet he's labeled as a me first guy.

I don't think Chad could beat Phelps because he would swim with his mouth moving the entire time and sink to the bottom of the pool .

Look at it another way: Do you honestly think TO played on a broken leg for his teammates' benefit?
