They are finally starting to get some talent and depth. Yes, they will depend on a lot of the same guys who played last year, but I believe that a lot of the problem was due to the fact that so many players had no experience going into the season. I predict that they will be 8-5 with a minor bowl win.

I predict that they will be 8-5 with a minor bowl win.Not a fan of the Irish but I think that is a fair assessment. The only concern I would have is how bad the offense was last year. I think 8-5 is the high end but definately attainable.

August 14, 200818 yr Author I think this is pretty funny. Apparantly So. WR Duval Kamara entered camp a little heavier than Weis would like, so he'll be wearing #60 until he under 220 lbs. Probably not a unique tactic for a coach to use, but I've never seen it before and it made me laugh.

I guess it is like the 300 lb PE teacher telling you to take a few laps.
August 14, 200818 yr With their schedule, they should be able to go 8-4. It'll be interesting to watch them this year to see if they did progress. Last year's team was very young, and small. They all have another year under their belts, and they're bigger too. The entire o-line is over 300 now as they hit the cafeteria and weights hard this offseason. I'm definitely excited to watch them play this year.

He is very similar to Quinn also. There won't be a lot of room for error for Jimmy this year. I to am a lifelong Irish fan. I got my tickets about a week ago and I'll be up in South Bend for San Diego, Michigan, and Syracuse.:dancingpa

I think ND handle the Ty Willingham wrong. When you compare what he did in 3 seasons compared to what Chuck has done in 3 seasons you can't tell me RACE didn't play a role in the firing. Not that it matters but I tend to root against them a little more now because of that situation. Ty - 21-15 Chuck 22-15

Ty - 21-15 Chuck 22-15 If it were only an evaluation of the records after the third season, you would have a point. The way both arrived at their respective records are night and day. If Ty had gone to a BCS bowl in 2 of the 3 years while in South Bend, he would have been coaching ND a 4th season.

Yes, the records are similar due only to last season, and honestly a big part of the problem last year was a lack of talent in the upperclassmen due to an absolute horrible job of recruiting by Ty. The biggest difference between Chuck and Ty after year 3 is at least with Chuck their is optimism for the future as he has brought in some loaded recruiting classes the last two seasons. Ty was let go for a lot of the same reasons why UK fans for the most part were not sorry to see Tubby depart. He got lazy during the recruiting season. Ty lucky UW hasn't canned him after 3 seasons in which he is 11-25. As usual he is doing a poor job of recruiting this summer. Notre Dame already has 14 verbals, UK has 16. UW has only 5, and 2 of those aren't even ranked players. IMO, it is going to take a miracle for Ty to survive this season. Bet you don't see all the race comments when UW lets him go.
