Bardstown player seriously injured

Got an update today, and it's a good one:

Demarco was released from the hospital yesterday, and was back in school this morning. He is able to walk and has no other motor problems. He will be in a neck brace for a while, and still has some swelling on his vertebrae. He'll be going in for more examinations in a few weeks.

It's unlikely he'll be able to play any sports again because of the risk of future injury, but the important thing is he's not wheelchair-bound, or worse. God speed on your recovery, Demarco. We're pulling for you.

While probably not what he wanted to hear, the fact that he is walking is a wonderful sign. We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy and full recovery.

Thanks for the update! Hopefully this young man will focus himself for success in other arenas if he is not able to play sports again. If he can't do it on a ball field maybe he will bring his intensity to another walk of life.

I hope so too! We were all so afraid of how my son would react when he found out he couldn't play anymore, but he found his career. Sometimes, things happen for a reason! Best wishes and continued prayers from the Rock house!
