Skirvin was very good back.

The Best Team ever had to be the 1976-77 Spartan Sr team.

7 guys off that team went on to Letter Division 1.

Mark Pike, Chris Derry, Tim and Todd Schulte, Don Duckworth, Tim Odom, Jeff Lemker.

They are being inducted as a Team into the NKYFL Hall of fame.

Buzzy Johnson was insane at the senior level in 05 for the Red Devils. I swear he scored over 50% of the time he touched the pigskin. That 05 CCRD team was a great team. 06 was great too.

Thats an understatement... Its good to see him recognized. As has been said, great player, great person. One of two players to have their numbers retired in Dayton history. Generally a "legend" in that small town. Walk into any random place in that city and mention "Skirvin" and the odds are someone will buy you a drink if you listen to whatever particular "Skirvin" story they have. Congrats to Skirv...

I will agree that Austin had a great year, but he is no where close to being H.O.F. material. The people mentioned here were extraordinary athletes that did amazing things for their 8 years in the NKYFL.

This is going back a few years and the memory is not what it used to be but I think it was San Diego State?

Who plans on attending?

There was an article in the Community Recorder Thursday about this event. The league is giving 10 $500 scholarships to newly graduated former players. (one per team) What a wonderful gesture and honor for these boys who gave their heart and souls at a young age-and learned a thing or two along the way.

I'd be interested to know who the top 10 players ever were for each and every team that has participated in the NKYFL.

Anybody more familiar with the last 15 yrs can throw some names out there.

What an awesome event!!! The place was sold out and standing room only.

Why would Jared be there, shouldn't he have played in the Ft. Thomas league and not for the Dixie NKYFL team?

At that time Jerod lived in Erlanger with his mother and that are was to the Raiders where he lived. He moved wiht his father to Ft Thomas later on and attended Highlands his father accepted the award for him last night. The HOF Banquet was AWESOME and they did a nice job on the first ever event in the future may need a bigger hall as some people were not able to get in and sit down. A great night and was great seeing everyone players, coaches and parents. Thanks NKYFL for a great evening. JD
