What a night for the NKYFL. It was just amazing seeing all the great athletes, coaches and a life time of friends. At one time, I looked up at the 500 plus people there and I noticed there were 1 or 2 Professional or Divsion I players of some kind at every single table, and they all had participated in the league. I was never so proud to have been involved in the league before. Congrats! and Hat's Off to all of the HOF"ers and Scholarship award winners, and to the NKYFL as a whole!!

I will agree that Austin had a great year, but he is no where close to being H.O.F. material. The people mentioned here were extraordinary athletes that did amazing things for their 8 years in the NKYFL.

 

I understand that the inductees were people who went on to do great things after they were done playing and I said anything about him deserving to be in the hall of fame. I was responding to a post about the most dominating player, and in his eighth grade year he dominated.

I bet they were pretty good with that talent. I'm not familiar with Lemker, what school did he attend?

I know some of them went on to play at the Big MO , before they changed the rules on KY going to Ohio . I'm not sure if he was one of them .

Didn't Larry Schreiber (Dixie, Tennessee Tech, SF 49er's, Chicago Bears) play for the Spartans early on--He graduated Dixie in 1965 I believe?

Anyone who has ever been involved in NKYFL knows what a great league it is and how many great players have come out of the league. Well its been 50 years since the inception of the league and its time for the first Hall Of Fame induction. It will be held Saturday Aug 2 at Brierwood. Public is invited $25 a couple or $15 single. We will induct 50 individuals and the most notable team from the past 50 years. Every organization will have inductees in attendance. Does anyone have memories you would like to share. Player you respected? Coaches? Favorite team Mom? Best game? Post here then come to banquet and see some people in person.:dancingpa

 

Not football, but NKYFL related--You mentioned Team Mom's, etc.; I wonder if they will someday honor some of their fine cheerleading squads over the years. I remember the Raiders Seniors and Juniors in the '00--'03 era that had overwhelming wins at the NKYFL competitions and then went on to win a couple of National Titles at Disney World in Florida with some scores that were off the charts. :thumb:

I know Duckworth and Odom attended Moeller. They both coached at SK, and if I remember correctly I think 5 or 6 from NKY went to the GCL giant.

This year they inducted Becky Alford and Gayle Warner who ran there cheerleaders for years. They also did allot more. They were already checking on nominations for next year. There will be more cheerleaders and directors in. There have been some cheerleaders (Lori Gooch) who went to KY and won National Championships there. This will make the event even better next year.

Congrats to Joe Frank, Northern Kentucky official who has given 25 years of service to the NKYFL and still doing it.

I'd be interested to know who the top 10 players ever were for each and every team that has participated in the NKYFL.
