I like the old time Rock music. Anything from the '60s and '70s. And some of the new country music, which in some cases sounds almost like the old Rock of years ago.

I know my ABC's or "Anything But Country." Can't stand the stuff.

 

I like Rock. I don't mind Christian rock either like Switchfoot, Pillar, Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch, Family Force 5, and Fireflight.

Slayer a little, but most of Slayer's stuff is a little too heavy.

Country and rap are the only 2 I really listen to these days.

Rap and country are complete opposites, but I like all rap and soft rock, so I understand.

I'm pretty sure using the phrase "genre of music" around Jim Schue would make him mad; however, I like channel 14 on XM "Bluegrass Junction"; I like Altan, and the Chieftains, and the Tannahill Weavers, and such, to the extent you would label that Irish or Celtic; I like symphonic orchestra LIVE; I like good female voices, like Loreena McKennitt; I like fretkillr on YouTube; actually I like anyone who can play guitar well, like Leo Kottke; and I like rock music, generally, if it is well done and not perverse, and has lyrics that were actually written by someone with half a brain, or at least a sound that is not canned.

I'll take any type of music that uses actual instruments and not a beat making machine. :lol:

 

Rock, heavy metal, soft rock, alternative rock...it's all good.

I don't have a favorite. I will listen to anything that moves me.

Celtic - Saw the Chieftains at the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati a few months before Derek Bell died. Great concert. Saw the Tannahill Weavers at the Celtic Festival in Cincy once or twice. Great place to be and the price is right; although it's called the World Music Festival now and they may have missed a year. Female voices - front row center for Judy Collins in about 1974 or 1975, back when she still had a wonderful voice. Saw Kottke also in the 70s; he headlined for somebody, and I've since forgotten the main act.

 

I'm no big concert-goer; I did really enjoy seeing Nickel Creek last summer at the Paramount in Ashland. Probably the last show I saw was My Fair Lady at the Aronoff a few months ago.

Most (99.9%) of rap is complete junk. As is most country music.

 

I listen to Rock, Alternative Rock, Punk Rock, Heavy Metal...

I like country. The genre has a song for every human emotion that you can directly relate to.
