Yes, his attitude needs to improve. But I believe it may be to late here, he's already worn out his welcome in the Reds organization. I still say he gets traded to Texas in the off season.

Not sure I understand your point, other than assuming the color of his skin, is meaningful to his production....

 

I think what most Reds fans would say, is he become consistent and have the ability, to get MLB players out in various ways. His previous outings, have been much better than prior but to be successful and endure, he must develop that consistency.

 

The question is, can the Reds afford to allow him to get the consistency, at the MLB level or keep him in the minors. Should they trade for others, since his potential is high and MLB clubs, are always looking for prospects.

This may be a little off topic but I'd like to make some opinions that had come to me earlier today.

 

I know Adam Dunn is a big big hitter but I just could care less how he acts and plays when hes in the field in Left. I'd like to convert and move Dunn over to 1B and move Votto to the OF with Bruce.

 

But I do agree that the Reds are in dire need of a CF and C.

If Dunn could play first base, I think he'd already be there. From what I've heard, he failed the experiment and is actually a better LF'er.

His velocity is good but location/command, is not there. In my opinion, his release point is too high, as a result of not getting his right hip through. He finishes with his right foot, pointing upward and flat, instead of driving thru and his toe, pointed downward.

I don't think that is a concern after tonight. If Harang is ready Homer can pack his bags. Even if he isn't I think you'll see someone else in that spot next time. Bailey is just simply not a Major League pitcher at this point in time and may never be.

I think that it might have to do with the fact that Homer was annointed as a future Cy Young winner by the Reds faithful before he had thrown a pitch in the majors and he's been just flat out horrible. He bears little, if any resemblence to a big league pitcher. He's 0-5 and the Reds are 0-7 in his starts this season. He has a 7.55 ERA, a 2.09 WHIP and a .381 Batting Average Against. In fact, he has faced 154 batters this season and 65 have reached base for a .422 OBP. Oh and just to make sure he stinks at everything he has allowed 8 HRs and thrown 3 Wild Pitches in 31 Innings. The worst of it though is he still has a reputation as someone that doesn't listen. I can't find much to like about him and I don't think the rest of the fans can either--it has nothing to do from where he's from.

I think you're dead on Strike as usual. Looks like his delivery has definately been monkeyed with and I think he is constantly thinking about his right hip as he delivers his pitches. His delivery just does not seem natural and fluid. We've all heard the rumors about him not listening to advice. Maybe he is listening and getting so much thrown at him he hasn't a clue what his natural delivery used to be. He does have potential and he's only 22, a young 22. If I'm Castellini, I don't give up on him yet.
