Tough choice...Gotta be strong up the middle, any way you slice it. But I don't think I would be upset with any of these three.

I say get it done. With the stable of young guys we have there isn't enough room for them all that play so why not build for the next few years.

I heard that Salty wasn't being traded. Hence the reason that Liard isn't starting C anymore.

I sure hope they could get more for Bailey than a .250 hitting catcher who throws out 17% of base stealers. That doesn't get me overly excited. They have built a solid corp of young pitchers, and now they want to give that away?

I'm not sure what I think about this deal. Homer has a great future and I'd hate to trade away a guy who has the potential to be a big-time pitcher.

 

With that said, center field and catcher are the 2 positions that we need to upgrade. Bruce will move to RF and fill in nicely.

 

I think Keppinger & Hairston are just fine at SS, especially if they continue to play the way they have this year. A young, talented SS would be nice too, though. Groom him for a few years and see how it goes.

I agree totally. It seems that the Redstockings get a good player/s and then trade for something, supposedly, better. Yet, they seem to stay in the middle or below the pack in the central. Then the guys the trade off, seem to do better. That is why I quit watching/listening to Reds' games a long time ago. It's hard to root for a team that has management that don't know half of what they are doing.
