July 25, 200818 yr Just got this from one of my guys... Look for the reds to acquire a PREMIER SS, C, or CF in the next five days for a young pitcher with an attitude problem. The Rangers were mentioned first in this possible deal. Homer for Salty? What say you???

July 25, 200818 yr Author What does PREMIER mean? Good question. Just passing along what I was told tonight...
July 25, 200818 yr Author Where does Jay Bruce be moved to if they pick up a CF? Bruce is a corner OF to the core. He can play CF, but it is far from his natural position...
July 25, 200818 yr Bruce is a corner OF to the core. He can play CF, but it is far from his natural position... Either one of these guys, along with Salty would be fine by me. But the SS I really like. http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080724&content_id=3187829&vkey=news_tex&fext=.jsp&c_id=tex
July 25, 200818 yr If we are going to get either of those guys plus Saltalamacchia for just Homer I will pick him up at the stadium and drive him to the airport. As a matter of fact I would even wait it out and pick up the guys coming in from Texas. And drive them back to the stadium. But I have no idea why the Rangers would do it...
July 25, 200818 yr Author I really am searching for things on this tip I got, but the source is rock solid, and I had to put it out there. The Reds are building for 09, and the next week or so will be very interesting either way...

As much as I would love to have two of them, I believe we only get one of the three.

But giving the choice, which one of the three would you want most? Edited July 25, 200818 yr by STRIKE3 fixed quote
July 25, 200818 yr I'm not sold that Cincinnati needs a SS of the future. Keppinger has really impressed me this season when healthy, unless of course they get a stud. Salty was a good prospect when he was with the Braves, but I have not kept up with him. I'd say the two biggest needs are C and CF.

I had actually heard some rumors about the Reds trying to work a possible deak for him awhile back. Maybe why they didn't draft one of the two stud SS who were in the draft.

July 25, 200818 yr The Arias kid, can be that stud...IMO I know nothing about him. But if he's supposed to be that good, I'd take it.
