July 25, 200818 yr Ok. Who are the good players that they've traded away? And, from what I've been reading on here, I don't know how many people would categorize Homer Bailey as a "good player", although I would. Frank Robinson, Jeff Russell, Jeff Montgomery, Ross Grimsley, Charlie Liebrandt. :D
July 25, 200818 yr Frank Robinson, Jeff Russell, Jeff Montgomery, Ross Grimsley, Charlie Liebrandt. :D I guess I'll answer my own question: Paul O'Neill.
July 25, 200818 yr I guess I'll answer my own question: Paul O'Neill. And who did they get? Roberto Kelly.
July 25, 200818 yr And who did they get? Roberto Kelly. They actually got two players. Roberto Kelly and Bobby Kelly.:lol:
July 25, 200818 yr And who did they get? Roberto Kelly. So there's one, and that was over a decade ago. I'll hold out until you come up with one (or two) on your own.
July 25, 200818 yr So there's one, and that was over a decade ago. I'll hold out until you come up with one (or two) on your own. On my own? You beat me to it. My fingers can't type as fast anymore. Let me just say the that the Reds make some bad decisions. Aurilla comes to mind. They could have used that money on someone a lot better than Rich.
July 25, 200818 yr Author The Rich Aurillia that hit .282 and .300 in his two years here? Yeah. That was a bad one...
July 25, 200818 yr The Rich Aurillia that hit .282 and .300 in his two years here? Yeah. That was a bad one... Yea. His avg was good, but that didn't get them anywhere. When the money could have been spent on a pitcher. Sean Casey for Dave Williams.
July 25, 200818 yr Yea. His avg was good, but that didn't get them anywhere. When the money could have been spent on a pitcher. Sean Casey for Dave Williams. Lol... That's called a salary dump. No one expected Dave Williams to be the savior. They then got a first baseman in Hatteberg who gave you virtually identical numbers to Casey at a fraction of the cost.
July 25, 200818 yr Just got this from one of my guys... Look for the reds to acquire a PREMIER SS, C, or CF in the next five days for a young pitcher with an attitude problem. The Rangers were mentioned first in this possible deal. Homer for Salty? What say you??? I want a premier catcher!:thumb: I even want a good catcher. If we can get one from Texas for Homer or in another trade with someone other than Texas I say lets go for it.
July 26, 200818 yr If they got 2 of those players great. But I think Homer has a chance to be good. He has been pretty good his last few outings, and has better stats than Volquez did in his first few years.
July 26, 200818 yr IMO, I need Salty and the center fielder, Arias for Homer. Homer hasn't even tapped his potential IMO.
