Did the Euro 2008 soccer championship final on Sunday - where Germany lost 1-0 to Spain - have anything to do with it? "Whether the fish was caught up in football fever in the aftermath of the European championship and hence snapped at the ball can unfortunately not be determined," police said in a statement.

The Annual Bluegrass Outdoors Fishing Guide did not indicate that maybe a nerf ball would be bait of choice this year for catfishing.
July 3, 200818 yr I have a friend who is a diver. He dove once in Frankfort at the lock by Jim's seafood looking for a boater that had drown. He is 6'4" 240 and said he wouldn't be going back down, because there were fish as big as him down there.

I wouldn't doubt it... year ago I was walking over the bridge by the plaza tower and drop some Pepsi of and like 5 floated to the top to taste it.
July 3, 200818 yr I knew I had seen something like Scarheel's photo before so I checked with Snopes. http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/c/catfish-ball.htm The one in the photo was in Wichita. Apparently ball eating catfish are quite common.
