Olympic trials

Featured Replies

Has anyone else been watching the Olympic trials on USA? These things are awesome I love watching this stuff.

Yeah, some white dude jumped like 7 1/2 feet in the high jump...

I watch them when I catch them on...I like the Olympics much more, but it's nice to get to know some of the athletes before it starts.

Yea that's kinda how I am. Some of these races are just rediculous, like the 5-10, and 15,000 meter race. WOW yea rite, I couldn't even run 400 meters w/out about wanting to die.

15,000 meter race?

I am pretty sure the cut off is 10,000 meters.

The middle distance (800 Meters) and distance races have been great so far. Seeing former St. Xavier star Bobby Curtis in the 5000 late last night was worth the lost sleep.

Tyson Gay is da man right now. Wind aided or not, ... he was smokin in the 100m finals!

I believe 2 NKY swimmers are at the trials. Cory Chitwood from Ryle/Arizona and Clare Dickman from NDA/heading to University of Florida.

I'd look for them to have a chance in 4 years.

They have a 15,000m race...at least they always have in the past and I don't see why they would change that.

Ummmm ... no they don't ... and haven't to my knowledge.

Running Events:

100 Meters

100/110 H Hurdles

200 Meters

400 Meters

400 Hurdles

800 Meters

1500 Meters

3000 Meter Steeplechase

5000 Meters (3.1 Miles)

10,000 Meters (6.2 Miles)

Marathon (26.2 Miles)

The relays are:

400 Meter Relay (4 x 100)

1600 Meter Relay (4 x 400)

I have been around a lot of track meets/road races .... and can't remember any 15,000's (not trying to be a jerk there .... but some road races have strange distances ... and I can't even think of one that is 15,000 Meters)
