Knox Central during the first two or three years of the Wayne Mills era, gave Bell all they wanted, nearly pulling the upset. However, in those days KC was hardly worth scouting or spending a lot of time prepping for and was able to catch Bell off guard. Those days are over. For Central to move beyond where they are now, they've got to improve on their scoring offense by adding some diversity to their attack. I've noticed that even Coach Hilton has realized that he can't just overpower teams because almost everyone works hard in the off season weightroom now. To Dudley's credit, he has realized that and adapted with the times.

Uncle, You can't judge future sucess by Middle school. Years ago M'boro always beat Bell in Middle school and then in High School the same kids at Bell would beat M'boro like DRUM.

 

 

I don't think any of the other teams have a chance this year. 09 will hold a different story possibly, but as long a Dudley and his staff is around they will be in the driver seat.

They didn't. You had New Harlan, Evarts and Cunberland.

I don't believe that is what he is saying at all. I just think that he is saying Bell Co. boys will improve a lot more from middle school throughout high school. Plus at that point in time most kids are still growing and its hard to predict who will be the best athletes in high school. A kid who is the biggest/strongest/fastest in middle school may not get much bigger/stronger/or faster.

It's just like Bell County's middle school football team as it is a combination of a couple of different grade schools in the county. Wallins, Cawood, Rosspoint, Green Hill, and Hall. That is who played Bell county for the CVC championship most every year.

I think they played Lynn Camp the last couple of years. It was basically Cawood High School's middle school team.

Bell can be beat but I don"t agree that KC will be the one but then KC may surprise me and do the unexpected. I don't know which team will be the upset but that is what makes football fun to watch. Sometimes the unexpected happens.

Anyone can be beat that's why they play the games.

I think they played Lynn Camp year before last. Was Lynn Camp's middle school ever in the Cumberland Valley Conference? Correct me if I'm wrong but you are now in a conference with M'Boro, Harlan Ind., and Middlesboro aren't you?

Lynn Camp, Williamsburg, Middlesboro, Pineville, and Harlan make up a middle school conference.

 

As for this thread, I am with Average Joe...it won't necessarily be a cake walk, but on paper Bell should win every district game this year.

The Harlan on your schedule could be Harlan Independent. The Dragons. Kind of confusing, but they came togther before the High School consolidated and they didn't know what to call them.

 

But if you play the Harlan Green Dragons and play the New Harlan Patriots you would definitely know the difference. Two different programs.

 

It's good to have this forum just for people like us, it helps clear up a lot confusing things.
