Is there any more boring stretch of road than the 120 miles between Indy and South Bend on state route 31? Up and back twice in the same week. I've seen enough corn and golf carts for sale, for a while now.

I drove up I-95 from Bluffton, SC to Somewhere near Wilmington, NC and it was pretty boring. On my way back I am considering 17 down the coast through Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, and Charleston on the way back. Anybody know if there is a lot of traffic lights on that road?

Well I think driving from Dorton, KY to Morehead KY is a pretty boring drive myself. :lol:

One of the problems with 31 are the traffic lights. 70 mph to dead stop lots of times is unnerving.

How far, and what is the road taken?

Try driving from Danville, Illinois to Havana, Illinois...and see if you can stay awake. MrRk's aunt told us, when we were going there for the first time, "turn onto ???highway and it is a straight drive on into Havana. Truer words were never spoken. We drove forever on a road that only had one little curve in it, looked as if the farmer wouldn't sell the land, and we only passed about 3 cars. All we saw was corn, and bees.

For me, the WK is the second worst drive, second only to I-65 North, anywhere from just beyond Jeffersonville to Chicago. The drive on I-64 from Louisville to Evansville used to bore me....now it's frustrating because there must at least a 30-50 mile stretch where it's one lane and 45MPH....I thought I was going to go crazy trying to not hit the old man in front of me as I watched the equally impatient driver behind me shout on his cellphone in my rearview mirror. If I was a better lip reader, I might have been able to know everything he was cursing about. :lol:

Well there is a couple of ways, but you hit US 23 from Pikeville till Salyersville then you hit the Mountain Parkway. You take that road for 19 miles then turn off on the Lee City/Jackson Exit, then go through West Liberty, then finally come to Morehead.

 

 

It takes around 2 1/2 hours. 120+ miles one way.

 

 

It really sucks. Most of it is 2 lane road also.

Ok the worst is Alligator Alley in Florida. I drove that road from 12 midnight till 6 a.m. from Petersburg to Lauderdale as a freshman in college. Ok, I was on spring break and missed a turn and realize about midnight that the ocean was on the wrong side of the road to be in Fort Lauderdale so I ended up having to drive across Alligator Alley till 6 the next morning. Nothing but straight highway, no gas, no convenient stores, nothing the entire way but straight road and nothing.:creepy:

I really hate the Natcher Parkway and I usually have to drive it 2 or 3 times a week. Another really bad stretch is I-80 from Des Moine to the Quad Cities.

The most boring drive in the world is from "anywhere in Florida" to "anywhere else in Florida."

 

The only exception would be along the coast on A1A.

Two of the most boring roads in my opinion are the Bluegrass Parkway and the Western KY Parkway. And I get to be on both of them this coming weekend! :mad:

The most boring drive on the planet is the Mountain Parkway, from Prestonsburg to Winchester. 120 miles of nothing...

Hazard, KY to London, KY is awfully boring. Its not 120miles but its quite boring.
