June 19, 200818 yr If I'm not mistaken, wasn't LA playing horrid before their last trip into Cincinnati this year? You figured this would be a tough homestand for the Reds, but 3-6 or 2-7 is just awful. 5 game losing streak going into this series.:irked:
June 19, 200818 yr Cincinnati has lost four straight and 11 of 16, a slump largely due to its struggling lineup. The Reds are 2-6 on a homestand that ends Thursday, batting .179 and scoring a total of 17 runs. Bruce has just one home run in 15 games after hitting three in his first seven contests. Aaron Harang (3-9, 4.10) is 2-3 with a 4.13 ERA in five starts versus the Dodgers. The Dodgers called up Eric Stults (1-4, 5.82 ERA in 2007) from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday to take Penny’s spot in the rotation. The left-hander was 5-6 with a 3.59 ERA in 14 starts for Las Vegas. He had three stints with the Dodgers last season. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/preview?gid=280619117
June 19, 200818 yr Author Here is a little tidbit of information on the Blue Jays and Adam Dunn... First a fan calls up and asks Ricciardi whether the Jays have interest in Dunn. Ricciardi replies that he's not interested in Dunn. Then he says: "Maybe we have more information and know the player a little more than the average fan." Interesting. Another fan calls up and says he's surprised Ricciardi would be so quick to dismiss a power bat like Dunn. Ricciardi really goes off on Dunn this time: "He's a lifetime .230-.240 hitter that strikes out a ton and hits home runs. Did you know the guy doesn't really like baseball that much? Did you know the guy doesn't have a passion to play the game that much? I don't think you'd be very happy if we brought Adam Dunn here...We've done our homework on guys like Adam Dunn and there's a reason why we don't want Adam Dunn." http://www.fan590.com/media.jsp?content=20080619_000814_12348
June 19, 200818 yr Hopefully the Blue Jays are a sign of hope that no front office will be dumb enough to sign Dunn to that 5 year, 90 million dollar contract at the end of this year. 6-0 Dodgers end of 6. Harang pitches 5 innings, 10 hits, 5 runs, all earned, 3 walks and 2 k's
