June 16, 200818 yr Last year my son surprised me with a CD he created of the music my friends and I used to listen to "back in the day". I listen to that CD more and more these days. This year I received my gift a little early, you see in April my Son passed away suddenly. A few weeks ago the school called me to pick up his personal effects, files and artwork. Among his writing portfolio the teachers & counselors had discovered an inspiration piece he had submitted earlier this year. My Son wrote about the close relationship we shared and the love he had for me. He is an amazing Son, I miss him dearly. gamehuntr, I know the circumstances are difficult, but that's a wonderful Father's Day gift. To know that your son felt the way he did about you is a treasured gift. I'm sure his love for you will remain in your heart and his memory will remain in ours. Go Birds!
June 16, 200818 yr I don't see my father too often, but last night I picked up my brother in Lexington and we made the trip down to Rockcastle to visit with him on Sunday. Had a good day too.

June 16, 200818 yr Went over and cooked dinner at Pop's house. Gave him the option for anything he wanted, and he picked my almost famous burgers. Sat out back with him and the grill for most of the evening and then watched the US Open when we were done. Also will be taking him to the Reds/Dodgers game Tuesday. We were going to go today, but decided we'd have a better chance of seeing a good game that didn't have a Bailey/Beckett matchup... :lol:
June 16, 200818 yr I had a tough time thinking of somthing to get my dad because he has everything. But I eventually figured something out. I got him a huge shelving unit where he can put all his DVD's. He has about 400 and out grew the one he had a long time ago.
June 16, 200818 yr Our son got FF a tape measure, tooth brush and a wallet. He was so proud of the things he picked out for daddy. I love age 3 when its the little things that are fun and cool. Adorable.
June 16, 200818 yr I lost my Father on 12-30-03 and I miss him so much. He was my best friend and I miss taking the trip to Florida in July every year to celebrate our birthdays, as they were a day apart. I have all his baseball memorbilia hanging in my room, from when he played in the minors for the NY Giants and Reds.
June 16, 200818 yr My better half, and the kids, got me a fire pit. I love to sit around a fire late at night and take it easy. One of my sons bought me tickets to the 3 Doors Down concert in September. Surprised me, but well appreciated. And I do like 3 Doors down.
