Biggest homestand of the year and the Reds look like an A ball team thrown together 2 weeks ago.

Like I said, it ain't all pitching. They made Looper (with a 4.85 ERA) look like Brandon Webb tonight.

I mean c'mon, I think Dusty should start hearing it a little. This crap of CF batting lead-off and SS batting second, and Griff in the three hole every night has to stop. It is killing the Reds. Bruce is to valuable to be in the one whole. He needs to be the three hitter.

The glaring weakness of the offense is no true lead-off. It is sad that Hairston meant so much to this team.....

No, it's not all pitching. As far as Dusty hearing it...Some things he has done with the lineups make you scratch your head, but he isn't going anywhere soon. I honestly believe Jocketty will give Dusty a chance to manage a Team, that he puts together. I would not be surprised at all, to see at least three new faces next year as far as the regular eight are concerned, probably four. Griffey is a Hall of Famer...Like it or not, as long as he's here the Reds will treat him as such. But yes, I do see Bruce batting 3rd for a long time. Hairston isn't no Ricky Henderson, or Ichiro, but he has done a pretty darn good job. Do I see him being a factor in 2009? No, but there really wasn't another option. And lets face it, all though this Team hasn't lost any future HOF's to injury, the one's that have occured have hurt.

As far as Dick Pole? He won't be here in 2009, nor will hitting Coach Brook Jacoby, just my honest opinion. Would I love to see this Team come to life, and run off about 10 wins in a row, and prove me wrong? Heck yes I would, but I can't see that happening.

Bronson Arroyo (4-5, 5.74 ERA) hasn’t made it out of the fifth inning in either of his last two starts. The right-hander is 4-5 with a 4.23 ERA in 13 starts versus St. Louis and went six innings for the win in a 4-3 road victory over the Cardinals on April 28.

St. Louis is expected to place Pujols on the disabled list and activate right-hander Joel Pineiro (2-3, 4.50) to start Thursday in place of Adam Wainwright, who was disabled because of a sprained middle finger.

Pineiro hasn’t pitched since May 20 because of a groin strain, but is 2-0 with a 0.68 ERA in two career starts against Cincinnati. He allowed one hit in seven scoreless innings of a 7-2 win over the Reds on April 29.

St. Louis is looking for its first sweep of the Reds in Cincinnati since May 2-4, 2005.

10 of the 14 Reds that played last night played in the minors either this year or last year. The 11th was a backup catcher who played in 60 games for the Orioles.

First game for me in two seasons and they totally bombed. At least the suite ticket was free, the beer cold, and the ribs were excellent.

Corey Patterson cf

Paul Janish ss

Ken Griffey Jr. rf

Brandon Phillips 2b

Adam Dunn lf

Edwin Encarnacion 3b

Joey Votto 1b

Doesn't look to good for the Redlegs tonight.

Does not look good at all.

Bruce will come on as a pinch hitter late in the game and get the winning hit. :thumb:

Anybody wanna give me any good odds against CMFP getting a leadoff HR? I got this funny feeling ...

I'm betting that the MF'er will be true to his name and go Medium Fly.

Night at Hofbrau on it??? :D

Now, see, the odds would be so against me, you would have to put up a night at Hofbrau to my one beer bought.

Tell you what, I'll give it to you anyway, even though he came close. You may be able to collect next week. :D
