Did you all see where Youkilis(sp.) and Manny getting into it in the dugout?

Pretty good fight, actually (by baseball standards).

My first reaction when I saw Shield's first swing... "Oh wow... If that would have connected he'd have been in a coma."

I missed that part. Where they into it with each other?

Seen it on Sportscenter. They was coming in from an inning and they got up into each others face and i believe it was Manny that started swinging at Youikilis.

^ What did he say?

Basically called the other players a bunch of girls for scratching at his face basically when they were on the ground when it was over and not throwing real punches. Kept calling them a bunch of girls.

I think the Rays are trying to show that they belong with the Sox and Yankees. I don't think they have arrived yet. If anything, it may be enough to spur on the Sox for several weeks.

Coco would have been out cold if he didn't dodge that punch.

He was an amatuer boxer so he wasn't too worried about Shields. He probably didn't count on Gomes sucker punching him after Navarro tackled him. Cheap shots by Gomes and Crawford who piled on later. Doesn't matter, the Sox swept them on the field.

Wasn't Gomes the mouthbreather who came charging in from the outfield and cheap shotted during Spring Training game?

Yup that would be him. So far he has taken 2 cheap shots and hit 4 homeruns. It is obvious what he's all about.

I believe Gomes should have the largest number of games suspended out of this altercation for his actions.

My guess is that Gomes & Crawford will get the same suspension as both were throwing punches while Navarro was holding Crisp down. Coco will be suspended as well, likely just as long for instigating the whole thing. He should have simply shrugged it off as part of the game & taken his base. Shields may get suspended but did the right thing by throwing at Coco's lower half. But it was a very stupid time to retaliate, already down 3 runs early in a game that could put your team back in first place. I don't think Navarro will be suspended as he was simply trying to keep the fight from escalating.

As to the Manny - Youk scrap neither Tito nor either of the studio analysts, including former player Dave McCarty, seemed to think it was anything out of the ordinary. Happens 2-3 times each year on practically every team. Time will tell...

Some are speculating that Youk wasnt happy with Manny not rushing out to help his mates in the scrum and it was mentioned in the dugout.

You do not want to have the reputation of being hesitant to back your brothers.

Maybe its just me but it seems like less MLB plyers charge the mound these days.

No doubt....what a swing. :scared:

Someone posted on the comments on that video that Coco looked like the guy from The Matrix when he dodged that punch, lol.

He is one lucky guy to dodge that haymaker...that woudn't have felt good at all tomorrow if it landed.
