Thankfully I know very few passionate democrats nor do I want to know very many. I have had a full time job for the same company since I was barely 18 years old, almost 40 years. I have worked for everything my family and I have. No one has ever given me anything. It irks me when people that are able to work choose not to and want me to pay for their welfare.

 

I am an honorably discharged vietnam era army veteran and when I read that if I don't support Obama or Clinton, then I am either a racist, narrow minded or unpatriotic. I served my country with many blacks and women and was proud to do it. We had each others backs. I wonder how many passionate democrats actually served in the military.

 

I fought for their right to support any candidate they choose. But please, just because I don't share their glee over the democratic ticket, don't put a label on me. I think I've earned the right to decide for myself.

First of all I sorted through your novel; and obviously mislead speech after being fired up by Obma's speech last night. I saw that as well and noticed a few things...........

1.) His slogan is "Change", but what is the change? He has never said that.

2.) He is a typical/steroetype politician, says whatever the crowd that he is talking to wants to hear.

3.) He can read a tela prompter

4.) Of course the crowd was energized, they were probably all drunk and it was Obama's crowd.....a lot of misled and very impressionable young people.

5.)As far as the "True democrat" statement, I can tell that you are probably young bc there is not a True Democrat in Washington today and there hasn't been for quite some time. What you are referring to a true Democrats or True far Left Liberal Wacko's....Obama, Clinton, Boxer, Pelosi, Schumer, Kennedy, and a whole line of others.

6.)You have called the Republican side "old" and the Dems have Sen. "KKK" Byrd form W.Va sitting or sleeping (not sure which) at his desk and podium, that fossil can sleep standing up. :lol:. Not to mention one that has had some severe health problems lately that I honestly and sincerely feel for so I won't bring him into it other than this mention.

John McCain likes to do what some people refer to as "flip flop" when it comes to abortion. He says he is against it, but if it were his own daughter, he feels like it would be her decision to make. So he thinks his daughter should be able to choose, but the decision should already be made for everyone else.

I'm with you 100%, the lack of morals in this country is frightening, sad and pathetic.

I think all life from unborn to senior citizens should be held precious. We are only given ONE LIFE. THat is it. It is the most precious thing we have. And we should hold life in high esteem. And we don't in this country.

 

And Jim Shue's continued pointing out the hypocrisy of the death penalty with my above statement has really made me rethink my position on it. While I am not ready to say I am against the death penalty, I am not hartily for it anymore, either.

 

That thought process is still evolving.

So it's great because we will have an African American running for President and possibly a woman running on the same ticket? OK, I agree that's nice and all, but skin color and gender doesn't make a great President or VP. Neither does charisma or or oratory skills.
