June 4, 200818 yr Author The Bridge on the River Kwai is awesome. I really enjoy this movie as well, but I was watching a documentary on it once on the History channel or something and from the sounds of it, the movie is very innacurate. But I still like it.
June 4, 200818 yr Author Your about 24 years too late. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. We Were Soldiers was based in 1965 in North Vietnam...still a great movie though.
June 4, 200818 yr Patton Schindler's List Saving Private Ryan Diary of Anne Frank Bridge On The River Kwai This is a good list. Add Tora! Tora! Tora! and The Longest Day and it's even better. Saving Private Ryan is the best of the list. That movie got jabbed at the Academy Awards by politics. How in the world could Shakesphere In Love win the Best Picture that year???
June 4, 200818 yr Saving Private Ryan The Bridge on the River Kwai Victory Schindler's List Tora! Tora! Tora! Patton
June 4, 200818 yr Schindler's List, I guess. But I'd like to see the Catch-22 movie featuring Alan Arkin from the 1960's (I believe). I loved the book.
June 4, 200818 yr My favorite comedy war movie (but it was based on the Korean War, shortly after WW II) was MASH. The football game is hilarious.
June 4, 200818 yr "The Bridge On The River Kwai" "Stalag 17" "The Longest Day" "Saving Private Ryan" "Das Boot" "Schindler's List"
June 4, 200818 yr "Das Boot" This was the one about the German submarine, right? IMO it was way too drawn out and long, although I realize that was part of the theme, of how long and exhausting the war can be.
June 4, 200818 yr I may get tar and feathered for this one, but "It's a Beautiful Life" won several awards. I am not much into foreign films but this one was good.
