Atleast its promising that they are playing better on the road. I agree. In our losses we seem to be a hit away or a bad inning pitched away or an error away... Not all of those things combined. Win 2/3rds of your home games and .500 on the road and you have a 94 win season... We need to work on the second...

June 8, 200818 yr True, but he is the one who inserts the players in certain situations and continues to hit Patterson at the top and Griffey in the third slot. If it is such a bad decision to hit Jr in the 3rd spot, why do the opposing managers continue to issue him intentional passes in key spots and pitch around him the rest of the time. He came up to pitchhit in Phillies series, what twice and walked both. 2nd and 3rd last night and they pitched around him. It seems that those who want Jr out of the 3rd hole know a lot more about baseball then the managers in the NL.

June 8, 200818 yr With that out of the way, let me say that I think the Reds pitching rotation is better than anything they have sent to the mound in recent years. Not sold on the bullpen, and I wonder if Cordero is 100%. Their offense is inconsistent, which is why they are under .500. It's not the rotation or the bullpen as much. If their avg with risp starts going up, so will their wins. It's about timely hitting and the bullpen. If they begin to get both, they will rise in the standings.
June 8, 200818 yr Jimmy...you can think all you want that the Braves hit 3 lefties at 3,4,5, but it's just not the case. They are not lefties...they are SWITCH hitters. It is totally different. And quit trying your "against righties" argument. Of course they are going to bat left handed, but that does not make them left handed hitters. They Braves can hit those three at 3,4,5 because they can pick which side they hit from....the Reds don't have that luxury, and there for that would be silly to have LEFT HANDED HITTERS bat in those spots.

If the opposition brings in a lefty, those two can bat right-handed.
