How can you think Bruce is going to hit like he has after struggling in Spring Training. Hitters go through slumps, especially rookies. Bruce is hot right now, he'll cool down and heat back up. It's part of the game.

June 8, 200818 yr And Patterson will heat up when? Patterson is 2 or his last 36. Thats a pretty cold streak. I'll say that he's had a lot more cold streks this year than hot streaks, but he has had some. After the first 8 games he was hitting .323, thats a pretty good streak if you ask me.

There's a reason there are nine players on the field at any given time. Patterson started the season .323. Then went into a slump. Then had hits in 6 out of 7 games then went into another slump. After that he was 6-8 and hasn't done much since. So, yes...I would say he has had his share of both kinds of streaks
June 8, 200818 yr I'd say the Reds don't win Bruce's first game without him. He also had a walk-off home run. That's two right there.
June 8, 200818 yr The first game Bruce played, he scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for a total of 4 runs he helped with. The Reds won 9-6. If the win as you say was a direct result of Bruce then really they would have lost 6-4. Same thing with the second game, the only run he drove in was the walk off home run. Thats a weak argument. Even if he gets on every time, he doesn't score without someone hitting behind him.
