Track the Reds (Week 10)

Jimmy...you can think all you want that the Braves hit 3 lefties at 3,4,5, but it's just not the case. They are not lefties...they are SWITCH hitters. It is totally different. And quit trying your "against righties" argument. Of course they are going to bat left handed, but that does not make them left handed hitters. They Braves can hit those three at 3,4,5 because they can pick which side they hit from....the Reds don't have that luxury, and there for that would be silly to have LEFT HANDED HITTERS bat in those spots.
What does that make them then? Bizzaro rightys? They are in the left-handed box and batting left-handed. I understand a switch hitter is not a true lefty, but the fact remains the Braves hit three left-handed hitters in a row against right-handers. I've never seen people get bent out of shape over a silly fact. Great! Don't bat Bruce, Dunn, and Griffey in a row because they are left-handed. But don't say no one else does because I've given two examples. You can add a third because the A's have batted three leftys in 3-4-5 spot as well. Some of the arguements on here are just laughable.

Agreed... :walk:

What is the Reds record since they recalled Jay Bruce?

Thanks. He should have been up sooner. He looks like he is living up to the hype and showing why the Reds wouldn't trade him in the offseason.

Thanks for the tip Theo...

The Reds were starting to play better before they brought him up. Walt even said it himself, they wanted to wait until the Reds started to play better to bring him up. If they brought him out of spring training, I don't think he has the same kind of success he is having now.

The Reds did the right thing with Bruce.

I might agree if Patterson was hitting well or Freel was off the charts. But Patterson was around .200 and Bruce was tearing it up at Louisville. How many more wins would the Reds have if they started Bruce in center than Patterson? Would they still be next to last? I think they would be over .500 and at least in third place.

There is more to it than that. It's not just any one persons fault for the team being where there are. Sometimes they have good pitching, but can hit a lick, and sometime they can't get anyone out to save their lives. It's more than...."they could have a better record with Bruce"

Not saying it's not possible they could have a better record...but I don't believe they would.

You can think that all you want, but no one will ever know. Bruce was struggling in AAA for a while. So, why would you bring him up if he wasn't getting it done in Louisville. He was also striking out way to much and they didn't want him to fail in Cincinnati and lose confidence.

So Bruce alone was going to win SIX more games in 7 weeks? And you want to call others points laughable. Yeah....
