Why would the guy take a 3 mil $ cut in pay?

I never said he would...there's a reason the word atleast was in that. And you never know. Dunn enjoys Cincinnati and i'm sure he wants to win so the new GM may have some Magic.

Teflon Dunn! Nothing sticks:D

A stable full of pitchers throwing BP was the problem and don't give me its because they don't have any money cuz of Dunn. These last 2 years are the only time Dunn has really mad a ton of money.

If he could hit .285 I would agree.

Batting average is over rated in some instances.

I think it would be in their best interest to keep him IF they intend to expand the payroll...

I agree if they push it to 90+ they would be silly not to.

I think you have to keep him. With the young prospects being up and producing (Bruce, Kepp, Votto, Janish), the Reds will be able to let a lot of the older guys go who are in the last year of their contract, including Griffey, which will free up a lot of money. The Reds can afford to give Dunn a big contract and go get some pitching considering none of the younger guys contracts will be that much.

Also having Dunn's bat in the lineup is more important than some think. It forces pitchers to pitch to Bruce and Phillips.

When Griffey is gone, I look for the lineup to look like this:

Freel CF

Bruce RF

Phillips 2nd

Dunn LF

Votto 1b

Encanacion 3rd

Keppinger SS

Ross C

I am hoping that Hopper gets a shot when he returns.

I agree. That lineup looks solid. I'm hoping Baker would hit Kepp 2nd as well but he had him in the 7 hole for a while.

They also only scored 1 run. They have a lot of needs

If things don't change somehow, 1 will be the number of fans they play in front of at home.

I agree. I have not bought a ticket in years.
