Look at the stats for Pena last year. :sssh: Do some research.

They are winning this year and he is not on pace to hit those numbers:sssh:

Tampa Bay. Good example. Some how they are winning without a guy that will go 40/100/100. Can't be.:sssh:

Does the name Carlos Pena ring a bell? Basically the same type of player as Dunn:sssh:

Tampa's problem is that their prospects play in Tampa, ours play in Louisville.

If we can keep the young kids and bring Dunn back, then maybe. We are always gonna over pay for HR's from him, but Chicago will over pay for steals from Soriano.

On Pace 579 81 134 31 93 84 190 .231

That goes, AB, R, H, HR, RBI, BB, K, AVG.

Looks as if he's pretty close to that pace to me.

Not quite. Hope Dunner does better than that. How much does Pena make? One other thing, and I have posted this before. I really don't like comparing the AL with NL because of the DH.

Here's what it come down to . I say the Reds won't win with Dunn.

You say they will. By win, I don't mean 82-80. I mean get to the playoffs. The one fact you cannot dispute is that they are 0-7 years with Dunn.

Pena makes i believe 8 Million this year. I'm sure whenever his contract is up he will demand just as much as Dunn. I'm not really sure but I believe Pena plays First and doesn't DH so I dont really know where you're going with that. But anyway, baseball is a team sport. You can't blame the last 7 years of losing on Adam Dunn. If the reds start winning, you also cant soley praise Dunn. Its a team effort, just like Bruce said yesterday in his interview.

^ An none of that has to do with Dunn.

Teflon Dunn! Nothing sticks:D

He makes 6 even... if we could get Dunn for 8, I would be really happy.

Oh, my bad. There's no way Dunn resigns for 8. It'll be atleast 10. And he deserves every penny of it.

If he makes less than half of Dunn it's a bad comparison.

Why would the guy take a 3 mil $ cut in pay?

If he could hit .285 I would agree.

Pena broke out later than Dunn did and now he's seeing the benefits from it. I just looked it up, in 2010 he'll be making 10.125 million with Tampa Bay. Dunn simply produced before Pena did and that's why he's paid more now.
