I hope Al Gore is hanging his head

For the life of me, I can't understand why you find it so hard to believe that some of us see Gore as a self serving, egotistical phony. Why should we have to see it his or your way? We have done our research; we have found what we believe to be clear, honest, educated evidence that refutes Gore's claims by scientists and climatologists that aren't making millions off of their research. Why do you insist that we should sell out to Gore’s scam? Yes, scam, that’s the way I see his “Global Warming” pitch. Some of us just aren’t enamored by someone that’s bilking the public to line his own pockets.
And some of us marvel at the ferocity of some people's open disdain toward Gore, simply because he advocates positions they don't agree with ...

And how is it Gore's fault that he got it over her?

It's not, imo that distinction goes to the ones that voted for him that bought into his propoganda.

It just takes one person, such as a history professor, to nominate anyone.

With a degree in history, I may nominate RTS or OR next year. With their

determination to stockpile an impressive personal arsenal, they are doing their dardest to keep guns out of the hands of the bad guys and make the world more peaceful.

Did you read that RTS, we are up for the award and you actually have a couple of nominations now! :thumb::lol:

I'm just trying to figure out why Al Gore should be "hanging his head".

I can promise that he is not, imo is laughing all the way to the bank. The ones that vote on this thing should be the ones hanging their head.

That statement works in reverse as well. As for those that feel that way, "Pot...Meet Kettle". ;)

Not near as much as we marvel at the intensity of some people's praise for Gore, simply because he supports positions that are nothing more than his alarmist fabrication of twisted, fraudulent "science" in order to line his own pockets.

I'd venture to say that's what oldrambler was getting at also. ;)

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh: That's funny right there, I don't care who you are, that's funny! :lol::lol::lol:

Oh wait, were you serious?..... :D

Sparky,

I'm sure the Nobel Committee and a good majority of Americans would consier Mr. Gore more of a hero than the war-mongering Bush.

I wipe former VP Al Gore from the slate.

Global warming has been a concern in the scientific community since at least the 1980s. I did NOT see any anti-global warming advocates UNTIL Gore announced it as a...platform (?). Was I just not looking in the right places?

Al Gore has made anti-global warming action a palpable threat to our way of life. The global climate is a legitimate area of scientific research. Al Gore is not a scientist and he was not even a good science student.

Gore's attempt to stifle scientific debate by ridiculing scientists and others who disagree with him should alarm everybody. In fact, Gore's tactics have been criticized by some scientists who are convinced that man is contributing to global warming. Many of those scientists believe that Gore has overstated the strength of the case for global warming and worry about a backlash when his dire scenarios do not materialize.

Every public policy initiative should be subjected to an honest benefit to costs analysis and those of us who are not convinced that global warming is occurring or believe that it is occurring but that man's contribution to it are minimal, do not believe that enough attention is being paid to the cost side of the analysis.

For those who think that I am attacking Al Gore because he is a liberal Democrat, let me say that John McCain's position on global warming is even more troubling to me. McCain or Obama will be in position to set Gore's costly plans into action. I have no idea whether Obama believes in the man-made global warming theory or not, but I suspect McCain is simply looking at whether the position will help him with moderates in November. I am also troubled by Newt Gingrich's flip-flop on this issue, but Gingrich will not be in position to sign bills and he does not have hundreds of millions of dollars to influence policy.

I don't think you can state the case any more cogently than that.:thumb::thumb:

Sparky,

That's twice you have made that comment. I would love to see the facts to back up your OPINION. And to say that Gore is a great American hero just dumbs down the title of American hero.

Sparky,

I'm sure the Nobel Committee and a good majority of Americans would consier Mr. Gore more of a hero than the war-mongering Bush.

I'll offer my opinion and my non-facts based opinion in like to yours by adding that I'm sure a "good majority" of Americans would consider Mr. Gore a clown.

And frankly, I think that the Bozo picked the wrong presidential race to throw his hat into, because sadly, he may have had a chance in this one.

Sparky,

I'm sure the Nobel Committee and a good majority of Americans would consier Mr. Gore more of a hero than the war-mongering Bush.

Sparky, I'm sure that this thread is comparing Gore and Spelder, not Bush. But you feel the need to bring him up in every thread.

:thumb: Your right. It has been a concern since the 1980's.....which followed in the 1970's, in which global cooling was a concern.:cool::cool:

FWIW, the article makes a compelling argument for Sendler, but I don't see why Gore should be ashamed that he won the prize- he didn't choose. IMO he has other things to be ashamed about, but that would be off topic.
