I hope Al Gore is hanging his head

There is seriously something wrong with this world today, that when people with money, recognition and influence try do do something right, something good, and they are summarily dismissed with such disdain and such close-minded arrogance. And on the flip side, those with no money, no fame, no influence who are unable to help themselves are summarily dismissed as unwilling to help themselves, lazy and leeches.

It's a shame...maddening and saddening in equal parts.

I, for one, am so glad that I haven't forgotten where I came from, appreciate what my family before have gone through, to appreciate that others may not be so fortunate as I, and to appreciate the efforts of those who have more fame and fortune than I to do something right.

Al Gore is a huxter. He inherited a fortune and has added to it by cashing in on peoples' irrational fears. Al Gore personifies arrogance and calling his critics close-minded and arrogant is pretty ironic.

Gore is attempting to bring real global warming research to a halt by writing the results in advance. Hyperbole is a good trait in carnival barkers but it has no place in science.

Really, really tired rhetoric.

Not a day goes by without a thread to bash Gore or discredit Obama.

They're not started to open the channels of communication. They're deliberately started to draw out those who either support, or are willing to consider either's ideas, and then ridicule those who do as if they (the posters) were naive children with no ability to reason for themselves.

Kind of how Gore treats those who doubt his most holy global view. ;)

Obama discredits himself with his ultra leftist values.

Again....

You are swimming upstream Rockmom.

I'll bet that some oil company is paying you millions of dollars to criticize Al Gore! Myself, I just criticize Al Gore to help drive up the value of my 401-K account because I must own shares in some company tied to big oil.

Have you noticed how liberals constantly question the motives of Al Gore's critics, including skeptical climatologists, yet never question the good Senator's motives?

(DISCLAIMER: To my knowledge I do not really have a financial interest in any oil company but I am concerned about people like Al Gore wrecking our economy by over reacting to non-existent crises. As far as I know, RTS is not on Exxon-Mobil's payroll, but I could be mistaken.)

Irena Sendler saw a real crisis and did the right thing even after being tortured by the Nazis. The Nobel committee missed a great opportunity to remind the world that evil is real, it threatens us all, and that one person can make a difference.

I'll ask again....exactly why should Al Gore hang his head? He didn't award the prize to himself.

You started this thread, you titled it such a way as to not-so-subtly imply Gore had something to do with Ms. Sendler not winning.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a liberal. It doesn't require one to be liberal or conservative to recognize sensationalist titling a thread. :D

Already asked and answered. It is the committee members who voted for Gore who should be ashamed.

Please click on the link in the first post of the thread and notice that the thread title matches the title of the column to which I linked. I did not sensationalize it. Otherwise, I the title would have placed the blame on the committee.

You must have just missed the title of the column when you clicked on the link that I provided and read the column for yourself.

You can always make your own title to the thread. It doesn't have to match the link. :D

No one is browbeating you or insulting you, RM.

For the life of me, I can't understand why you find it so hard to believe that some of us see Gore as a self serving, egotistical phony. Why should we have to see it his or your way? We have done our research; we have found what we believe to be clear, honest, educated evidence that refutes Gore's claims by scientists and climatologists that aren't making millions off of their research. Why do you insist that we should sell out to Gore’s scam? Yes, scam, that’s the way I see his “Global Warming” pitch. Some of us just aren’t enamored by someone that’s bilking the public to line his own pockets.

Al Gore is a Great American hero. I was talking to a Republican yesterday, a Republican who was sharply critical of Hillary and Barack, but said he voted for Gore in 2000 and would again. Americans, and more important, human beings view Gore in a much more positive light than than the dastardly Bush. Long live, Al Gore!

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh: That's funny right there, I don't care who you are, that's funny! :lol::lol::lol:

Oh wait, were you serious?..... :D
