Adam Dunn

Featured Replies

Since this thread has been started, Adam Dunn has been the most productive Reds player on the roster. Leads the team in RBI and HR and has also had 4 homeruns that either won the game for them or gave them a lead.

I'm going to take credit for his hot streak. Ever since I said he was looking for a walk he has been infuego!! :fire:

I like Dunn and want him to stay. I just am concerned about the price.

They don't need it? Are you serious. This team that is struggling to put up runs.

My point is that the teams leading the division don't need one guy to post those numbers. But the under .500 Reds do. If you can explain to me why the winning teams don't need him and the losing Reds do, and you make sense, I'll back off Mr. Dunn. Oh and let's keep it in the NL. AL with DH is just a different animal.

You mean like the one he threw from the wall to nail Cleveland's Ryan Garko at 2nd base last week leading off the 8th inning? Let me let you in on a little secret. Dunn is 6'5 and weighs 275 lbs. He moves pretty darn good for a man his size, but he's no speed demon. To say he doesn't hustle though is not a true statement.

:lol:Holy Cow, this guy can do it all! Lets put a "S" on his chest and vote for him for mayor.

Boy, Texas really missed out on a great player didnt they? Thanks for letting us in on that secret about Dunns size, didnt realize he was such a hefty fella.

I am kidding. After watching Dunn for the past several years, he will never be a captin/leader. All you guys do is talk him up. What has he done for you to back him up? He hasn't won, and really has not come close. Its not like he goes out there and puts his body on the line for the team either.

I get that but this team needs to be reconstructed totally if you are going to go in that direction. Bottom line he produces runs with the best in the league year in and year out.

Yeah it's his fault the Reds haven't had pitching for the last 8 years.

I never said he didn't put up numbers. I do think the Reds need to go in another direction. All I want is for them to put a winning team on the field. And if somehow Dunn is part of that equation, then great. I just don't see that happening.

Exactly. When your MRP's are blowing leads every other night it's kinda hard to win ball games.

N.L. Central Left fielders. Here's how I'd rate them.

1. Carlos Lee- Astros

2. Alfonso Soriano- Cubs

3. Adam Dunn- Reds

4. Ryan Braun- Brewers

5. Jason Bay- Pirates

6. Chris Duncan- Cards

The problem with Dunn are the economics. Cincy can't afford 13-15 mill for a guy who will hit .240, 40 HR, 100 RBI.

Any decent hitter/power hitter, will drive in 100 RBI's. We are paying about 6 million a year in HR inflation for a guy who has never hit over 46 in a season, and not over 40 since 2004.

First of all he has made two or three below average throws for every good one in his entire career. Second I think you are seeing things because I never said he can't move well, I said he doesn't all the time. I do however think Adam is a productive player, just not 12 to 15 million dollar kind of player, you seem to be a relatively smart fan who knows a good amount about the Reds, so you need to realize keeping him for this amount is ABSURD. Oh yea BTW, Adam Dunn is 6'6 bud.

I agree with everything you just said. Organizations have these types of players all the time. They are good players and put up numbers, but they want to much money, and the team isn't winning with them. So usually they trade them to a winning team and get some prospects and some money. This is what I think the Reds should do.
