While you can't blame Dusty for everything, IE Coffey, Arroyo and guys just flat out not producing the way they are supposed to.

Dusty has already put his stamp on this team and I would be shocked if he lasts more than 3 years in Cincinnati the way he is going right now.

1. I don't know how well Coffey was going to produce in the first place, there is an old saying that goes something like..... "you can't make chicken salad out of....." :p.

I don't know what Arroyo's problem is but he doesn't even look anything like the same pitcher and a lot of the time it looks to me like he just doesn't care. Maybe there is some problem between him and Dusty? I haven't heard anything like that and don't know.

2. I am kind of leaning that way myself.

Unless Cueto has some knuckle ball that I'm not aware of, this is just absurd. If your a major league catcher, you should be able to catch a major league pitcher...

I tend to agree with you here. Cueto may have requsted Bako as his personal catcher but I am not sure that Cueto, although good has or should have that much........let's say "clout" for lack of another term I was thinking. :D

I honestly don't know, my vote was not sure also. With the exception of about three postion players, and a few pitchers, this Team needs a complete makeover.

Peter Gammons said at the first of the season that the Reds should contend in the Central. They are obviously not going to. Baker is the leader of the team.

Batting out of order...Baker said it was his fault and the second time it has happened to him in his career, the other time as a player. Baserunning like little leaguers, bizarre player moves..... I will say early returns not real good but willing to re-evaluate at the midway point.

Just curious as to those who approve of his job as manager.... give a couple of specifics. I can understand saying it's too early, but I am somewhat dumbfounded by what actions that could give him a resounding thumbs up at this point.

I'm guessing the mindset here is that Cueto is more comfortable with Bako behind the plate. I'm also not a believer in this. Ross has never caught Cueto, at least not in the regular season. My point is that when the opponent has a tough lefty on the hill why not catch Ross, regardless of whose pitching. Bako was way overmatched against Perez on Sunday.

Right now I approve.

It's not his fault that this is a horribly constructed team.

I put disapprove, but it's really too early to tell. I have 2 issues with Baker at this point in the season. 1 is the right/lefty lineup day in and day out. Get a lineup that is going to produce runs and quit worrying about having two lefties or righties back-to-back. 2 is the handling of the starting pitchers, especially Volquez. Baker keeps complaining that he needs to go deeper in the game, even when he's giving 7 quality innings. He also rides his pitch count up in games that aren't really that close. He's a young pitcher and it's early in the season. He's going to get stronger and improve as the season goes on, same with Cueto. I just hate to see another Prior/Wood incident with Volquez and Cueto.

As a Cubs fan, I wholeheartedly approve of the job Dusty is doing ...

:thumb:my thoghts exactly...

I'll wait until the halfway point before passing judgement. Less than a quarter of the way into the season is a little premature.

I will have to give Baker an approval rating. No manager in the game today rolls a tooth pick like he does.:D

Not Sure. I don't know if anyone could do any better with this group.

Baker has a short memory. There was an intense game in 2004 against the Reds no less when Baker failed to tell the home plate ump about a double switch. The pitcher was called out and Baker went ballistic! He threw his hat and kicked stuff lying around the on-deck circle. I can't believe he does not remember that--I remember it clearly.

Baker remembers it, but he still says he told home plate umpire C.B. Buckner about the double switch. That ones a little different.
