There is never a time in a kids high school career that he should not receive support or respect from the folks in the community or administration. Success can be measured in more than just wins or losses, unfortunately some never see it that way.

High school athletes work their tails off from day one and I'm confident the GC players are no different.

If someone does not support the kids through the tough times then IMO they should not jump on their bandwagon when things are going well.

Man you guys can really take a comment and blow it way out of proportion, can't you. I was talking about coaching staff, system, and the GC program in general. People dont respect or support a losing program like they do a winning program, noone can argue that. If a team is winning the stands are full, that was my point. I gladly support and have been to every game the Muskies have played the past 10 years. I really don't need you guys to give me a life lesson on how to support GC. I have been doing so my entire life, just as you guys have Raceland.

:sleep: I was stating my opinion, nothing more and nothing less. I certainly am not trying to give you a "life lesson" as you call it . Support your Musketeers how ever that you see fit, if you are happy with it then believe me, it doesn't matter to me.

 

My point was what I thought was pretty dang clear in cvillecat's post and that is why I quoted him. That point is that High School football ( or any h.s. sport) is supposed to be about the kids, that to me anyway means getting out and supporting the kids win or lose and not putting them down. These kids whether anyone believes it or not read these boards. Negativity breeds negativity and whether or not someone is being negative about a coach, player,system or whoever/whatever it is still negativity.

As I said, I certainly am not into or trying to teach you or anyone else a lesson. Just trying to explain my comments (which I thought were clear) and stating my opinion.

How many players went through spring practice? Replacing the Justice and Stephenson kid in the backfield will be a big challenge. The OL was also hit hard by graduation.

The first game will make or break Greenup Co. Russell should beat them by two or three touchdowns The last five years total score is 148-52. The last time Greenup beat Russell was 2000 the score 21-13 Russell had 5 unforced turnovers that game but thats football. I went greenup schools until high school my dad decided to move to flatwoods so I could play football and run track we lost 8 games in the four years I played and we lost 6 track meets out of 58 in those four years also. My point is simply this pride will make or break a team. The first game most of the time is set in the players mind no matter what the coach is saying after that first loss especially if its the first game of the season. GOOD LUCK TO GREENUP CO. THE WHOLE SEASON EXCEPT THE FIRST GAME PRAY FOR UNFORCED TURNOVERS AND YOU MAY WIN IT.

Ah, A little taste of Russell arrogance from someone with just enough pride to switch schools and give up. Did you ever stop to think that if it wasnt for athletes like you and many others who have transfered to other school's, that GC might have a little better record against Russell. To say that the only chance GC has is to pray for more Russell screw ups is pompous and frankly unbelievable.
