The most important aspect of the 2008 team is that they believe in the system and each other. They are a confident bunch. They have a destiny and understand how to reach it. This will be the first year that each team member has had Coach Sammons as his only head coach at GCHS!

Grayson played one of the best games that I saw a GC d-lineman play all year last year at Harrison County, so I believe he will be solid this year. As for the rest I am guessing Sanders, Newberry, Kitchen? I don't know. What do you think Sun?

Let's not forget Dillow. He can play pretty strong at NG/DT, as well.

 

Honestly, the TNT's should consist of Sanders, Dillow, Newberry??? (possibly DE), Grayson, Kitchen, and David Taylor (1st year senior) -- in addition to a surprise or two from the Junior/Sophomore bunch.

 

A wildcard in the mix would be David Berry's brother, Philip -- if he decides to return to school and play this year. He is a beast up front.

Let's not forget Dillow. He can play pretty strong at NG/DT, as well.

Thats a big if with Phillip, but I would love to see him on the D line. He has always been a beast, but you never knew whether he was going to show up or not. I forgot about Dillow. There is still a pretty big lack of size and experience on both sides of the line.

What about a basic 4-4? I don't claim to be an expert on the D side of the ball, if fact I have probably only called defense a few times in my life, so maybe I am way off base with a 4-4 against a Wing T.
