Does anyone remember Roy Rogers restaurant?

Featured Replies

Maybe it was in Covington?? I worked in both places. It was across from Ohara Ruberg Taylor and Trusty so maybe it was Covington.

Newport was across from NC.:thumb:

Wow, ate there tonight. Roy's blows Arby's away. During high school football season, my brother and I take that road trip every Friday. It's funny how many people you see up there from NKY. Try talking the owner into opening a new restaurant at the Levee. Na Baby Na!

What did you have to eat? and how long of a drive is it from, say Campbell County?

It's the Eastgate exit, you just go away from all the traffic at the exit. Once you get on 275 East from Campbell I'll bet you can be ordering in 15 minutes unless it's rush hour.

Don't take this as an endorsement though, I've never eaten there.

Used to be one in Newport years and years ago, wasn't there?

Yep. Loved it when I was a kid.

It's a Gold Star now and before it was Roy Rodgers it was a car wash .

Is it close to the Eastgate Mall? Do know how to get there

There is one somewhere around Cincinnati still....

I rember the Roy Rogers' restaurants at the Rest Areas on the Jersey Turnpike in the 80's. Is it the same franchise?

It's a stone's throw from Eastgate Mall. From Campbell County, take 275 east to Eastgate. Take the 32 West interchange (second 32 exit ramp). RR will be on your left after a few blocks.

Back in 1996 we were on a church mission trip to Boston (my first trip to Fenway, and I was the activity director but that is another story) and our Greyhound broke down in Cincy. We ended up spending about 5 hours in a Roy Rogers Restaurant somewhere near the bus terminal. Is that the one that is still operating? It was on the Ohio side of the river.

I remember going to the Roy Rogers in Newport as a kid. Im going to have to check out this one in Cincy real soon.

Roy Rogers in Newport -- remember it well -- wasn't bad from what I recall. I remember there was one in Cincinnati -- I think it was near Doppe's Hardware and if I recall it was in the lower level of a Frisch's.

My Dad and I make a special trip out to Eastgate to visit Roy Rogers every few months! Love the place!

Whoops, that was actually 1986.
