Gillipsie talking with Oklahoma State ?

Featured Replies

There has been a definite culture change around the program for the better.

I liked Tubby, but in this game it is all about recruiting and he simply got lazy, had a lazy staff, and was very unorganized.

Isn't it ironic that you are starting to see more and more former players from UK come back to UK and becoming involved in one way or another?

Like Farmer and Padgett this past January?

I am too!! I hope he continues to have the same success he had this year.:D

Making the NCAA tourney after starting 7-9 really was quite an accomplishment. Thanks for your support :thumb:

That was a nice turn around. I thought it was 6-9 start.

I congratulate you an a great season and I hope he averages 18 wins a season... :D

Believe what you want to believe.

There is always talk at the Final Four with rumors and whatnot.

All I can tell you is that I know a few people who are privy to some things. I know one person who was with Travis Ford last week in New York.

I know one person who is friends with a D-1 head coach and was on vacation with him last week.

I told people last week who was the front runner for the WKU job when people were falling all over themselves about Knight and the guy I mentioned was hired...

So believe it if you want...no one said it was gospel. Things change..so what is good copy today may not hold true in a matter of a few hours.

No one is on here trying to mislead people.

I'm not saying people are trying to mislead anyone but you have consider where the info comes from. I have a sister who worked for UK's basketball offices until last year and she still has good connections to the program. I also have a brother who has been an assistant with Nolan Richardson at Arkansas as well as assistant stints at UAB and Tennessee Tech. They both hear things on a regular basis but that still doesn't mean it's true. It could be true but unless I hear something from BCG's mouth I just don't put much faith into it. Sure, I'll make a note of it but I'm not going to come on here and post something like it's the truth because NOBODY KNOWS!! As news pasess through people the truth seems to disappear with each person until only about 15% of it is truth. I said that I wasn't referring to you in my post. You sound like you do have a legitimate connection to that world. With that being said, it still doesn't make it the truth all of the time. That's all I'm trying to say.

Billy G took two teams, UTEP and Texas A&M, that have never been great teams and took them to the top of their conferences. So I don't think we will be seeing many more 18 win seasons. :thumb:

I am assuming you are talking about Pitino's players...those guys will still gravitate to Coach Pitino.

However, throughout the year former players came by and was around the program, more so than many years....Hayes and Bogans in Houston for example.

I'm talking about how they wanted to talk to the UK players after a game and Billy Clyde told them to get lost.

labs,

I'm sorry if I missed you answer to these two. Right now, do you have any names on who the coach is going to be? Have they talked to anyone already? And most importantly, is Billy Clyde involved at all or is he here to stay?

Hadn't heard that about Farmer and Padgett...I do know that BCG has a really good relationship with Farmer.

I don't think we will see Billy G leave anytime soon. He will reconfirm he is a winner before even considering any other job. He is an awesome recruiter as we have seen this year and knows what kind of players he wants. The Cats are not far from being with the top teams again.

Here's a scenerio for ya, see what you think about this.........

If Self goes to O.S.U., do you think Kansas would go after Billy G.?

I do! If Self leaves Kansas, I think the Jayhawks will go after the Self understudy. I don't know if BGC would go but he would definately be inheriting a program who is obviously championship material right now. What do you all think? Now, this is if Self does go to OSU.

Anything new on the OSU front?
