Just saw on Anderson Cooper where Wal Mart is changing their health insurance plan to allow the Shank's to keep their money from the lawsuit.

So all those who bash Wal Mart should reconsider the company in the future. Wal Mart has done a lot for a lot of people.

This doesn't change my opinion at all, should have never come to this in the first place.

I still believe whole-heartedly that Wal-Mart will be the downfall of modern civilization!

Damage control...

Agreed!

All they want to do is put smaller businesses out of business, and they strong arm all companies that they do business with and don't care if they bankrupt those businesses in the process.

What business doesn't try to do this?

Thank you. I understand that some people have sentimental value in Mom n' Pop shops. But we aren't in the 50's. I don't understand people who just tear apart Wal-Mart for the sake of tearing apart Wal-Mart. Is it convenient to other smaller stores when Wal-Mart rolls into town? Absolutely not. However, the Waltons are in the same business as Mr. and Mrs. Johnson down the street with a corner store: making money.

I know Wal-Mart has their flaws and some things they do may be questionable. However, they truly are an amazing business in my opinion.

So the people shouldn't have to live up to the agreement that they signed and their attorney who took over 50% of the settlement has no culpability in this either?

I'm happy to hear it...it may be damage control but better late than never!

Come on now...

You're saying that the people who SIGNED A LEGAL CONTRACT shouldn't live up to their end of it? IT SPECIFICALLY said that if they recieved a court settlement then they would have to pay the money recieved from the insurance back. If they didn't read it, or have their attorney look over it then it's their own fault, not Wal-Mart nor the insurance company.

That's what's wrong with America today, everyone wants to be felt sorry for and wants to get a break from people. Whether it's getting out of tickets, waiving late fees on bills or whatever, no one wants to take their own responsibilty for their actions. People need to deal with it and move on. Read the fine print and read it again before you sign any kind of insurance documents.

Damage Control. I only shop at Wal Mart when I need something that I can't get anywhere else locally.:D

What about the $20 million that Walmart contributed for Katrina relief? Or the loads of supplies they delivered to hurricane devasted areas before FEMA even showed up?

Peole only wanna give bad credit to Wal-Mart, not good credit!

Like at the Mom n' Pop shops that Wal-Mart is allegedly trying to run out of business? ;)

This is nice to hear. Whenever there is a situation where someone is disabled and needs fulltime care for the rest of their life I think things like this should be done. I understand the legality of the Health plan and what they signed but in this case an exception needed to be made.
