BTW, I've never said that all Giants fans are great. That is stupid to think. I'm simply saying that Giants fans are generally not that bad to be around. Not nearly as bad as some other teams. I've talked to more than a few Eagles fans and Cowboys fans on message boards who have had no problems at Giants stadium.

You are basing your opinion on the theory that all New yorkers are jerks. I'm basing mine on actually talking to people who have been to games.

 

I realize wearing an opposing jersey will get you some negative attention. However, some teams take it too far and are far worse than other teams. Why some people don't want to admit that, I don't know.

I like you a lot but your biase toward NY is as bad as I've seen for anybody and their team. 50,000 New Yorkers sober are bad enough. Now get them drunk and walk in with a rivals jersey on. That's fine if you feel that way. I don't!

Rivals might be different. But I wasn't wearing a rivals jersey in Cincy and they were mostly ignorant jerks. In Atlanta and Tennessee I had ZERO problems. I think it's just the fact that Cincy's fans are jerks.

I've had the opportunity (through my job) to visit stadiums around the country and meet many thousands of fans. It's true that there are good fans and bad fans everywhere. But I have to say, NY fans, and especially NY Giants fans, are by a very long shot, the worst of all for bad behavior. It's not even a contest. You would not believe the things I've seen up there. Philadelphia fans aren't much better. So far, I haven't had a bad experience at a Bengals game.

I can see some Giants fans being bad, but I've talked to more than a few people who have never had a problem with Giant fans.

It's generally accepted Philly has the most vile fans. I mean they booed SANTA CLAUS!

 

That said bad fans are everywhere and outlawing alcohol doesn't solve the problem. They don't sell beer at NCAA events and I've witnessed many MANY jerks in and around Commonwealth Stadium.

The one thing that is missing from the criteria here is fan behavior... some of these venues (e.g. the Bengal's Paul Brown stadium) are not places that you would ever want to bring your kids to see a game.

 

Bengal fan here. Games I have went to outside of Cincinnati (I am from New Jersey).

Giants Stadium (Numerous times): Bengals don't play the Giants much, but saw them there in 1994 and 1997 plus I live in Giants/Jets land. Stadium does suck and is a pain to get too and the food totally doesn't reflect the great food in NJ/NYC. The fans are great though. Talked to a lot of fans b/c I was wearing my Jeff Blake jersey. They genuinely felt bad for me and other Bengal fans since at that time they were struggling and had been for years. Giants won both games, but they were close. They were actually impressed with the Bengals.

It's NY! I had a best friend that coached Pro ball in NY. It doesn't take a brain child to know what New Yorkers act like sober. You think they get better drunk at an NFL game? Now have somebody wear an opposing jersey there:lol: I understand what you are saying about some places being better than others. I agree that my experiences at Cincy have had some idiodic fans and when I was in Tenn they were boring. We also sat real high at the Cincy games and almost on the field at Tenn. (I think that had a lot to do with it too). Overall my trips to Nashville in general has been more tame folks than Tenn. Do I doubt there are a bunch of idiots in Nashville... NO! To think that there aren't plenty of idiodic drunk fans in NY is absurd! IMO any adult fan that is dumb enough to wear an opposing jersey into a rivals stadium is asking for trouble and I don't have a lot of sympathy for them. Little kids is another story IMO.

I understand what you are saying about different places being different. Cincy is bad IMO. I just think you are a little blinded about being a GMan fan. New Yorkers are New Yorkers. Drunk New Yorkers are rough. Drunk New Yorkers with an opposing fan wearing their teams jersey isn't going to be a pleasant experience IMO.

We're not going to agree and that's OK. It is a problem with kids around IMO.

I used to live there and was actually a fan; but I totally agree. Giants fans are the absolute worst!
