April 2, 200818 yr Monday Night at 8pm is a better spot than Sunday at 3 in 100 degree heat. Now as UL fans we need to respect big brothers wishes and give them plenty of time to get ready for the toughest game on their schedule.....North Fork State. We are only playing them because Bobby & J.R. Ewing wouldn't let the South Fork club play the Cats. (Hint you have to be a little on the older side to get the South Fork and Ewing reference)
April 3, 200818 yr Author That's Thanksgiving weekend right? Just like LSU, Arkansas, Texas, Colorado, Texas A&M and Nebraska normally play on the day after Thanksgiving. Nice try. One, it's a night game, and there is high school football on that day as well. Two, I quoted your exact words, you had no qualifier.
April 3, 200818 yr Author Food and beverage(s) on me! :ylsuper::ylsuper: By the way...we don't have "steve's" on site BUT plenty of "clydesdales"!! I can certainly "deal" with those
April 3, 200818 yr Author There is an iron man competition in Louisville that day going past PJCS... so thanks Mitchy for creating a mess. It's going to be a real big mess. I commend Jurich for making it still attractive, regardless of the logistical nightmare.
April 3, 200818 yr I commend Mitch for not letting Jurich jerk him around (I really like Jurich by the way). Isn't that Monday the first Monday Night Football double header?
April 3, 200818 yr I will not lose any sleep over this what so ever, however I am happy that it's on Sunday so I get to watch the game.
April 3, 200818 yr Author I commend Mitch for not letting Jurich jerk him around (I really like Jurich by the way). Isn't that Monday the first Monday Night Football double header?NO.....it's the week before...that's why it is such a highly watched game.
April 3, 200818 yr One, it's a night game, and there is high school football on that day as well. Two, I quoted your exact words, you had no qualifier. I feel confident you understand the difference.
April 3, 200818 yr I commend Mitch for not letting Jurich jerk him around (I really like Jurich by the way). Isn't that Monday the first Monday Night Football double header? No, the NFL starts the next week. That is why playing on this Monday night is so important. You are talking about 25 million share compared to a 10 million on Sunday. It is not a matter of getting jerked around, it is a matter of FREE publicity and exposure for both programs. If it was such a bad time to play, why did Tenn and UCLA jump at the chance? Both of these programs are historically way better than UofL or UK. I am convinced it is simply a matter of the two schools not wanting to get along. But sacrificing primetime exposure, because of "not liking" each other is stupid. I don't no if Barnhart is scared or what, but the lame excuse of needing extra prep time for Norfolk State stupid too. That's like saying you need extra prep time for Gardner Webb, :sssh:
April 3, 200818 yr Why is it that all of you UK fans stand do firmly behind Mitch and his continued dismissal of national exposure? Exactly, just like the hotel commercial.... UK is afraid of being showed up by UofL on the national scene.
April 3, 200818 yr Exactly, just like the hotel commercial.... UK is afraid of being showed up by UofL on the national scene.
April 3, 200818 yr Again last year all we heard was how moving the game from the Labor Day Sunday slot was terrible. Now we're playing on Sunday and UL fans are still complaining. Typical. Whoever the duffass was that scheduled an Ironman on the weekend of this game should be the one catching it.
April 3, 200818 yr I think the Sunday time would've been great, and still will be. But last year ESPN didn't ask if they wanted to play on Monday night football, the most viewed sporting event each and every week of the year. That is the difference between last year and this year.
April 3, 200818 yr I have to work Tuesday and get up at 4am, so I would've had to take a day off or missed part of the game, so Sunday suits me better. Sorry about the rest of you.
