April 5, 200818 yr Author While that may be a bit harsh, the last time I checked, this is a RIVALRY. We're not supposed to be sending each other Christmas cards and candy. That's true as well. Tough, my problem is this. UK asked for Carte Blanche when the game was being played in Commonwealth. Louisville said OK, Uk didn't offer the same courtesy, and now U of L is stuck.
April 5, 200818 yr I don't have a problem with the date of the game, but because it's an August game it should definitely be played at night.

I agree.....when all is said and done.....I really want the night game for two reasons....the Pizza Box is a great venue, but electric at night....and the heat of the day in the Ohio Valley in August is brutal....it is flat nasty.
April 5, 200818 yr Author ^ It's not something that many would think about....but it is a direct factor with the fans, and this game has been moved to the night as a direct result of that.

April 5, 200818 yr Author ^ Actually it was complained about a ton, in game 1 at the Pizza Box, and when U of L won 28-0 4 years ago during the day....it is nasty. Look, I am over the Monday Night thing, I simply wish it got pushed back into the night. I hear, that was ESPN's call....it sucks, but it's all we can work with....good luck to both...I hope both come out healthy after such a beastly game.

April 5, 200818 yr I've NEVER heard it complained about before until this scenario. You guys are really reaching. I remember a lot of complaints from UK fans the last time it was played during the day at The Oven.
April 5, 200818 yr One side is worried about exposure and getting in a prime time spot and not play in the middle of a more than likely hot day. The other side is worried about playing on a Monday night late and getting in extremely late and would rather not do that. There is good points to both sides of the story. I just don't understand why so many UL fans are this upset. I for one am more worried about how good UK is going to be next year, how the QB and WR positions develop and seeing UK have a good season. UL fans should be worried about having a repeat of their huge letdown of a season they had last year.
April 5, 200818 yr Author ^ Here's the thing on the latter part of your post. I don't think they could ever "let down" the fans like they did last year. Many of us were expecting a BCS bowl, and they didn't get one at all. This season I expect a bowl, and I think that'll happen.

Obviously it was not the main issue, and I am not saying it cost them any games necessarily, but I wonder if playing so often on Thursday or Friday nights and whenever ESPN wanted them to may have thrown off routines for UL some last year.
April 5, 200818 yr Author ^ I don't think so, mainly because they are extremely used to it. If someone like UK had to do that starting this upcoming season, I could see how that could hurt. U of L has played numerous Thursdays since the Pizza Box opened.

The defense is so bad it will keep them from bowling again this year. They won't stop anyone all year, run or pass..
April 6, 200818 yr Author ^ You are wrong....the defense of 2007 will have been much worse than the 2008 edition, and they almost bowled last season.
