March 27, 200818 yr I think these groups are more effective then we want to believe. Rev. Wright, preaches to thousands in Chicago... (for those who believe his speeches are filled with venom and hate towards white americans) KKK and Nazi groups, appeal to young outcast white american males. (their speeches filled with venom and hate to anything that doesn't agree with them) Radical Islam appeals to young outcast muslim males. (mosques preach hate to anything that doesn't except Islam) All of these groups are centered around hate. I'd say if the govt. would really give us the real growing numbers, it would be scary. Regarding the numbers, you very well may be right.
March 27, 200818 yr PINEVILLE — The Appalachian Knights of the Ku Klux Klan are expected to hold an event in Pineville on the weekend of April 11 through April 13. The event, “Aryan Bash 2008” is said to be the first annual event of this kind. The story doesn't actually say what time they expect to start bashing Aryans............
March 27, 200818 yr What exactly does one do at an "Aryan Bash?" It reminds me of Chappelle's show when Clayton Bigsby said after the rally "There are cookies and punch in the back. We can mingle and talk about white brotherhood."

March 27, 200818 yr Curious. Not meaning to threadjack but how do you feel about Obama and Rev. Wright? I was being sarcastic. I would not associate with anyone who had those views.
March 27, 200818 yr Good point. I am all for free speech, goodness knows I have some "out there" thoughts when it comes to our government and so forth. BUT To flat out HATE a group of people because of the color of their skin, religion, sex or whatever, that is flat out wrong. To have groups still around that promote that in some way is just baffling to me. You want to disagree with a person, a group or an ideal, fine, that's what makes this country great. But to go that extra mile and HATE someone, nothing good comes from that. I'm just amazed groups like the KKK still exist. Unfortunately, we have not been able to eradicate ignorance in America quite yet. And some people say they can't understand why the Shiites and Sunnis can't just get along and make Iraq operate smoothly politically and economically. Heck we have knuckleheads just as closeminded and hateful still in America.
March 27, 200818 yr As someone who is married to a minority and have two mixed childern I have taught my family not to fear these types of groups. These groups have a right to gather and have dieariah (sp?) of the mouth. What I would like to ask is for the folks and the media in eastern Kentucky is to ignore these ignorant groups. On a side note wouldn't it be funny if a Clayton Bigsby really was their leader.
March 28, 200818 yr Are they going to "party" underneath the rock that is held up by the chain? What a time for that to break....right when they are there.

March 28, 200818 yr I saw this in the paper yesterday as I have been visiting my parents this week. I really find it hard to believe that there is a lot of support for something like this from the residents of Bell Co., at least the ones that are out and about in civilization. Maybe I have been away from here for a while, but I just cant see the support for something like this to take place in Pineville. Now I am sure you will get some of the cooks out of the "hollers" that would be into this sort of thing, but outside of that there arent really any race issues that I know of in Bell Co. With their history and reputation, I would have thought that Corbin would have been a more likely destination for something like this. It really doesn't help the reputation of the area for something like this to get publicized, as its not really the views of the area. I hope BGP is as far as it gets publicized for the sake of the people of the area.
March 28, 200818 yr "Let us see your face! We want to see yo face!" "Look no further friend, you found him..."
March 29, 200818 yr This really concerns me since my son is thinking about applying for a teaching job at Bell County. Is this the norm in Pineville?
