November 21, 200223 yr Surface baits are the most fun. A surface blowup is much more special than a strike on a crankbait. Evenings, surface baits (pop-r, zara spook, buzz baits) and smallies on the surface. Don't get any better than that.
November 27, 200223 yr you cant go wrong with a chrome, blue and orange rattl-trap. used em all summer,and caught many large mouth including a 3 1/2 pounder and a 4 pounder.
July 19, 201214 yr If I could only have one universal lure I would undoubtedly choose a 3 inch Blue Pearl/Salt and Pepper Kalin Grub on a 3/16th ounce jig head. I might get outcaught by the tubes guys, and on occasion by the rapala/crankbait/spinnerbait guys, but I would be fishing the way I enjoy fishing and catching my share of quality fish of all sizes and species.
July 23, 201214 yr Just got back from taking my youngest son and my two nephews fishing for two hours on a Monday morning....... My favorite lure today was a couple dozen night crawlers and a bobber.......... Life is good.
July 24, 201214 yr Soft craws, if you can catch them peeling in the same water you're fishing. I have never found anything to match them.
July 25, 201214 yr Topwater. Sammy. If I could choose a technique that I enjoy most it would be that. The thrill of one "blowing up" your bait still makes my inner child giggle.
