2004 Mason County; defending champs, Mr. Basketball. Probably a curfew away from repeating; although Warren Central did have a very nice team. I just don't think Whitney goes off if Mason has their entire team on the floor that night.

I don't think that Warren Central team gets enough credit. They were stacked.

And it wouldn't matter if you stopped Whitney when you've got 2 guys who are 6'7'' and can flat out play in Lonnell DeWalt & Matt Maresca.

1996-UHA

UHA may have had one of the most talented teams ever in the state that year.:thumb:

Barnes- Temple

Victor- UT

Swanagon - Notre Dame

1999 Scott County.....forgot to show up for Championship Game
Scott Co. was loaded that year.:thumb:

Forgot about that team ... they had four guys that played Division I hoops. Michael Forrest, one of the guards, played two seasons at Eastern Illinois.

UHA lost two games in-state that year, at Paducah Tilghman late in the season and to a talented Christian County team in the first round of the district tournament. The Blazers were ranked #7 in the USA Today poll before the loss at Tilghman.

They certainly were with three guys that signed with major colleges ... Rick Jones and Scott Hundley at Vanderbilt and A.W. Hamilton at Wake Forest.

Jones ended up at Murray State and Hamilton, one of my personal favorites, ended up at Marshall.

That Mason team was vulnerable in the post, and Warren Central had two guys that could exploit it in Dewalt and Maresca. The Dragons were the better team.

The reality is that Dewalt took 4 shots in the game, two of which were the dunks at the end. He didn't try to take many shots because of how well Whitney was playing, and that's just the kind of player he was. Would take it over when necessary but more than willing to just do the dirty work. I'd say if Jones plays and they tried to stop Whitney, Dewalt is more of a factor in the scoring.

1972 Russell Red Devils-Beat the states #1 team Ashland in the regional and lost to eventual state champ E-town @ state after leading by 20+ in the first half.:fire:

Mason Co. 1994. Team ranked all season. Top rating in State Tournament.

Players were Timmy Myrick, Shawn Myrick, Kyle Sherman, Anthony Thomas and Phil Doyle. A good team to lose to Louisville Moore in the first round the

score was 79-77. Team had a 30-4 record.

Maresca was very, very underrated. They had those guys down low and four guards who could just stroke the 3.

99 Henderson Co., 05 Pendleton Co., 04 Mason Co., 07 Ballard, Clay Co. 89, and Newcath 84. To name a few.

St. Henry 2003 was the team that always gets talked about from the recent future.

Does that mean their 2010 team will be talked about in the recent past? :D

I would definately have to go with Mason Co. in 2004. Lofton and the boys along with a young 8th grade Darius Miller. Lost in the State Finals to Warren Central.
