Yes. But nothing stops them from having their own private fundraiser to get the money to install such a field.

 

Do not take this as a knock on Ryle because I think raising that kind of money is awesome, but I do think it would be difficult to start a fundraising campaign without any coaches. Considering the people they may try to hit up may feel ties to the schools that will feed into them. It may take time for the community to feel ties to Cooper High. However down the road I would say they could have a chance to fund raise.

 

I do agree with others that the timing is going to make it difficult to compete on the varsity level.

 

Did Ryle play varsity football their 1st year?

 

As far as I know they did not play a varsity schedule for a few seasons. JV schedule.

I'd say that would be the path Cooper should follow. They will get hammered if they play a 6A schedule this year.

Yes, he would. Which is why we at Ryle are more than hoping he stays put. I believe I heard Coach Warner say something at the team banquet that he (Wolfe) was staying put (I think), but you never know what could happen if a head coach position would actually be laid on the table in front of him.

The word on the street is that Wolfe was asked to take the job and said no.Also Coach Ray was asked to take the job and he also said no.

Best of luck to the Cooper High Football Team :ylsuper:. Named after a fine man in Randy "Coop" Cooper. I believe he was one that was well thought of in all cirlcles and loved by everyone, great man from a great family.

 

(I grew up down the road/street from the Coopers when Randy attended high school and played at Raceland. I guess that I was one of the "pain in the neck" little kids that most h.s. kids usually just don't give any attention to. Certainly not "Coop", he always had time to notice and give a kind word of encouragement.)

I read on Ryan Ernsts blog that an announcement will be made sometime within the next week.

I don't care if they have a coach or whos going there.

 

With hardly any seniors going and the players needing to trust this coach they just meet.

 

It will take Cooper atleast 3 years to get to where some of the other NKY are.
