Eaglebooster77 Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I was wondering the same thing. Have they begun contacting kids to see who's interested in playing there? Any talks in the other Boone Schools?
Coach Hard Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I haven't heard anything about the coaching, but one of our school's coach's (actually Basketball) was in Boone county visiting family recently. They took him by the new school and he said it was absolutely awesome. A beautiful facility, with waht looks like it will be a awesome sports complex. Way to go Boone County!
jar45 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 I stopped by there yesterday and the school looks amazing. I walked up to the football stadium and it is very similar to Ryle's stadium.

cooperstown Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 It would appear to be getting rather late in the game for them to be hiring a coach, putting together a team from scratch over the summer, and being ready to start playing games five months from now.
cooperstown Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Grass field ? Yes. But nothing stops them from having their own private fundraiser to get the money to install such a field.
malachicrunch Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Nope. But nothing stops them from having their own private fundraiser to get the money to install such a field. Did you mean yes, it will be a grass field?
cooperstown Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Did you mean yes, it will be a grass field? Yes. My bad. :irked: It is a grass field.
SirMixAlot Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 I heard something like Boone's coach is going to cooper and Ryle's is going to Boone. It might not be right, but it is what I heard.
luvthemraiders Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Ryle's coach is from Boone. I would think he would stay at Ryle, however.
nees1212 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 I heard something like Boone's coach is going to cooper and Ryle's is going to Boone. It might not be right, but it is what I heard. I think it's Boone's baseball coach going to Cooper to be the AD.
cooperstown Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 I think it's Boone's baseball coach going to Cooper to be the AD. Correct. Matt Wilhoite will be going to Cooper as AD. They have yet to name their individual sports coaches, but Coach Warner has assured the Ryle faithful that he is not at all interested in the football job. A little concerned, however, that one of Ryle's assistants - specifically Coach Wolfe - might be recruited, however.

whataboutthis Posted March 22, 2008 Author Posted March 22, 2008 Yes. But nothing stops them from having their own private fundraiser to get the money to install such a field. Do not take this as a knock on Ryle because I think raising that kind of money is awesome, but I do think it would be difficult to start a fundraising campaign without any coaches. Considering the people they may try to hit up may feel ties to the schools that will feed into them. It may take time for the community to feel ties to Cooper High. However down the road I would say they could have a chance to fund raise. I do agree with others that the timing is going to make it difficult to compete on the varsity level. Did Ryle play varsity football their 1st year?
