I dont know about comm. support, but I did notice at districts, there was not a pep section for Russell. GC vs Russell and no Russell pep section that is just plain sad.

LOL, I agree totally Ducky.

It is amazing how the same people get on here in support of certain people, but also bash the same people when relatives and such aren't getting the playing time that they think should.

Adminis-traitor? Laughable.

Me thinks some are being quite hypocritical, and trying to have cake and eat it too.

From all I gather, the community support for the program had eroded to where hardly anyone showed up for the games.

 

 

If I have a problem or disagree with a head coach or an anonymous poster on BGP, I'll go to the source. I support a head coach's decision wheather I agree with it or not. I respectfully disagree with you if you were trying to refer to me. But, I never bash.

With seeding next year, Russell, Raceland and Lewis would be extactic with Dodd roaming the sidelines at GC. Dodd is a good COLLEGE coach and I hope he returns to where his expertises are valued.

Russell had very good crowds 2 years ago when they were 27-5 and the favorite to win the region for the second year in a row.:thumb:

 

The crowd was small this year due to a 3-26 season, not the coach. Everyone involved knew it would be a down year due to losing 11 of the top 13 players and to imply that it was the coach's fault that the crowd was down is incorrect. The Devils will be fine.:thumb: It will take anyone 2 more years to be very competive there.

Be careful what you wish for. If Dodd ends up at Greenup instead of a college, they will be first in the district and the Devils will most likely be trying to avoid the 4th spot.

Check your PM. I have been a Russell supporter since 1960 so it has certainly taken a lot for me to change colors. The treatment of Coach Dodd by certain individuals claiming to represent the "Russell Community" has soured the Ol Duckster.

Who cares! If he wants to root for whoever, then let him do it. Obviously he saw something that made me want to root for another team......Something probably you or I know nothing about.

I may no longer be a part of my old school's program, but I still supoport the kids who are there. Maybe not the current staff or administrators, but Ducky I think it would be hard to turn your feelings off so fast for the players.

Ghost and Soldier, Perhaps I haven't been clear. It is not the players or the new coach that I will not support it is a small group of people in the stands that I no longer wish to be around.

 

I hope the Devils win a lot of games and I implore my friends to support the new coach and stand with him when the birds fly south. I like every single kid on this team and I wish them nothing but the best. I just won't be there any longer.

Isn't it true, in sports especially, that when you have to stand up and announce that you aren't going anywhere and are happy, and this doesn't apply only to Floyd, that there is reason you have to say that? Just curious...
