GC vs Russell could be real, real interesting next year. Maybe this will bring this Rivalry to an even more heated match up.:banana:

I agree with you completely that new faces in new places could add some serious spice! Gotta love it!

The only reason that ol' Ducky is a supporter of the Muskies is beause he sees a possible position on another coaching staff that Mr. Dodd may be putting together it seems. I may no longer be a part of my old school's program, but I still supoport the kids who are there. Maybe not the current staff or administrators, but Ducky I think it would be hard to turn your feelings off so fast for the players.

 

I don't agree with Ducky's support of Dodd, however, I can tell you he is a good & caring man. His feelings for the kids has nothing to with him choosing to put on other colors. He's always been good to the kids. Again, IMO Dodd was not good for Russell or the Kids. He knows alot about basketball. At times is very good to the kids. However, IMO he played mindgames with kids who weren't old enough to deal with it. He is a solid college basketball coach. IMO he is not BEST suited fo the HS level.

:laugh::laugh: I still laugh everytime I think of the GC student section doing that during the Russell game. Turning a thing that opponets used to make fun of you into a joke on them was great :lol:! Not putting down anyone, just had fun watching the GC student section run with this theme at the Russell game throught the years. I must say though, if anyone on here was a member of thast GCHS student section "back in the day" when it was first started imo the GC kids to day should take notes from you guys, was far better years ago than it is today.

 

As for the coaching situations at both schools......Good luck to both in finding and naming a basketball coach.

Great post here RedX :thumb::thumb:, shows a lot of class that some others need to show, and I will just leave it at that.

Will the GCHS Administration hurry up and hire Fraley so all this Dodd-Greenup love fest will end.

Those people in the area know GCHS can't hire Dodd, because as soon as they do there young kids are moving out of district FAST.

Coach Dodd is very good at developing young talent, just ask Blair, Gill and Vanhoose.

I truly don't believe that Coach Dodd had a great hand in the development of Blair, Gill, and/or VanHoose. Those three were talented athletes before he ever had them as players. Gill was an outstanding leaper with adequate basketball skills, which needed some work. Blair really never improved from his freshman year and his overall game never developed. VanHoose was an outstanding player who I feel owed his development from hard work and a father who saw that he played against the best competition at an early age through the AAU Circuit. So I think that debunks your thoughts on Coach Dodd and his "developing" these 3 players.

 

Oh and by the way I have talked to all three of these kids before so I believe I'm getting the correct info.
