  1. Way to go! G-Town adds another to a really awesome class!
  2. I agree, I think it's an awesome class too. I know of one or two kids they're still going after. KY kids! Man, is it football season yet!!! Can't wait to watch these young men.
  3. Thanks, sounds like an awesome player. Can't wait to watch him next year along with all the kids from X, Trinity, Raceland, Belfry, Ashland. G-town does a great job of getting KY kids with OH mixed in. Very excited!
  4. Oldrambler, once again I agree with you. Kids have a lot of different options in front of them but need to make the one that "feels best" to them. I know my son had oppotunities in the big east, conf usa, sun belt, big ten, & even 1AA. I was surprised (pleasantly) when he chose Georgetown. He said it offered the balance of a great education, successful football program, & personal touch he was looking for. I was happy despite him picking them over my beloved hoosiers! (of course he wanted to win)
  5. Way to go to both young men. I know my son Seth was very excited to see some guys from that area. Kinda like a Russell/Raceland reunion!
  6. I'll ask again for you.....What position does he play & what HS did he play at.
  7. Seth Harvey from St X (previously Russell) signed a letter of intent with Georgetown College today. From one Tiger program to another.... WAY TO GO SETH HARVEY!!!! Your family is sooooo proud of you!:dancingpa:ylsuper:
  8. Way to go Seth Harvey #76! You're entire family is very proud of you! Keep your head up & show them what you can do on the next level. Congrats to DJ, Duece, & Trevor! You boys are awesome! Also, to all the other players named, way to work hard & congrats!
  9. St X has 2, Central & Trinity. Game against Male was cancelled due to wind storm.
  10. He is from Russell Independent (3A) in Russell,KY. Played his Middle school & Sophomore years there. He played his Freshman, Junior, & Senior years at St X.
  11. Big tackle from eastern KY is Seth Harvey & add DJ Hall to that list
  12. I don't agree with Ducky's support of Dodd, however, I can tell you he is a good & caring man. His feelings for the kids has nothing to with him choosing to put on other colors. He's always been good to the kids. Again, IMO Dodd was not good for Russell or the Kids. He knows alot about basketball. At times is very good to the kids. However, IMO he played mindgames with kids who weren't old enough to deal with it. He is a solid college basketball coach. IMO he is not BEST suited fo the HS level.
  13. Raceland is a very nice setup. It maynot be everyones dream job, but to others it may be. To each their own. That's what makes this world so interesting to live in.:ylsuper:
  14. While I respect your opinion, I have to disagree. The amdinistration did everything they could do to support Dodd. He alienated himself by his actions with his player and parents. Russell supports their coaches well and do not want a revolving door type situation. They'll find the right person. I'm not sure Kidwell is the man, but I'm not convinced that he is not. I do however, have the utmost confidence in Sam Sparks. He'll get it right.
  15. While you are right in your observation, things go a little deeper than than at Russell.:thumb:
  16. Seth attended St X 1/2 his Freshman year, played on the Russell State Runner-up team his Sophomore year (4th on the team in tackles as a DT, and moved back to St X when I got re-transferred to Louisville. He played every two series rotating with the senior in front of him. He played on the defensive side of the ball mostly at Russell and when he was on the offensive side, they ran a wing-T system. Last year was an adjustment time for him. Since they had a good RT who had put in his dues, they could afford to bring Seth on more slowly. He's really improving rapidly.
  17. Ducky you too are entitleted to your opinion. I do not think you have much of a leg to stand on saying that I'm wrong. I can make a pretty strong case of parents from all grade levels that did not support Dodd, not because of playing time but because of the way he played mind games with the kids. A philosophy that carried down to his JV coach. I had two sons in the program. One very good, one that was, at best, average. The JV coach & Dodd took all the excitement/love that they had for the game a trampled it in a few short months during their freshman year. I actually had to make my oldest play his sophomore year. Had we stayed. He was not going to play his junior year because of the two previously mentioned coaches. I do agree. The kids learned a lot this year the hard way. I don't wish Dodd any ill will. I hope he goes on and does well. I just hope his ego get in check and hope he learns that he's not coaching at the college level (assuming he goes to another HS). Kids don't respond to complete negativity. You have to build kids up AND teach them the game. Perry Yates understood that. Dale Henry understood that. I believe Kidwell understands that. I think the AD at Russell understands that and will make the selection that is best for Russell. I have the utmost respect for Sam Sparks. He is a class act. The most important thing is that I do Love the Russell Program and the people, players, & entire community. I hope they can rebuild the program to where it once was.
  18. A person would have great job security at Russell as long as he/she deserved it. Obviously, you can make your own conclusion about Dodd.
  19. Dodd has had two year-three years to develop kidds. Problem was that a certain JV coach let his ego get the better of himself and kept running kids off. I watched during those years shaking my head as I watched player after player NOT be developed. Then when parents tried to approach the staff, ego gots in the way. Coach Dodd and his JV coach needed to be out of there years ago. All I can say right now is Amen!
  20. Harvey, from St X has been/invited to Michigan, WKU, Marshall, & Louisville junior day. Received lit from Purdue, Indiana, BC, Aurburn, Tennessee, Virginia, NC State, & many other smaller schools.
