Those are the numbers for the Trinity-Ryle state game I believe. The attendance at the T-X game that year was much more than that.

 

In 2006 St.X got knocked out by Male in the second round of the playoffs 33-6.

Not really. Normally, when you don't want to play a team you are scared of them. Just calling a spade a spade.

I have often wondered why KHSAA gives Trinity and X preferential treatment by allowing them to not play in the playoffs until the final game. Why don't they do that for other schools? Answer: MONEY

Well who else in KY do you think we should play? We played the biggest schools in KY last season and the top team in Ohio. It's not our fault that they keep building new schools instead of adding on to existing ones.

In 6A (as was the case in the old 4A), the geographic midpoint is right down the middle of Louisville. As it turns out, St. Xavier is on the west side of the line and Trinity is to the east.

 

There has been no gerrymandering to get those two programs on opposite sides of the line, only by those that have tweaked the playoff system to get those two teams to meet before the championship game.

 

Here's a challenge, everyone ... one I've laid out before and no one has met. Draw up a 6A alignment that is geographically sound and balanced and has Trinity and St. Xavier on the same side of the playoff bracket.

Lets look at the reasons they are "scared".

 

All Male students.

 

They haver kids from 20 surrounding counties plus out of state.

 

Private money can go directly to the football program. Public schools have to share.

 

Look at their home fields.

 

Their coaches are known to look around at younger kids.

 

Look at the amount of numbers of assistant coaches they have compared to pubs.

 

Most public schools have kids go both ways, the X/Rocks have over 100 kids for the varsity alone.

So you're OK to get beat by them in the Finals, as long as its just one? Pretty weak, especially from where your boy went.

There is no arguement that those two schools year in and year out are the best two this state has to offer, but the arguement is what about the other 6A teams who cannot compete with numbers, facilities, and coaching numbers. The only other team that could even maybe play with them is Highlands, and in most years they would stomp Highlands. Plus, look at the way the REGION is set up two LOUISVILLE schools meet in the finals...thats not right...two Lexington schools will never meet in a 6A championship. Those two teams need to meet either in a regional final or in the Semi's...that is fair to the rest of these kids all over the state who bust their butt's just hard as Trinity and X...Most students aren't blessed to go to a program where everything from weightrooms to offices are first class, but they shouldn't be punished for not have those things either.

I think you should know WHY they were split apart before commenting. Otherwise, it doesn't make any sense.
