Winning the Big East tournament or advancing deep doesn't help things at all if they get a draw to play Thursday. We all know the saying about playing to win the game, but you are better off resting yourself for two tough games next week.

We all know the saying about playing to win the game, but you are better off resting yourself for two tough games next week. Win the Big East, get a 2 seed play a 7 or 10 seed in the second round. Lose tonight, get a 4 or 5 seed, play a 4 or 5 seed in the second round. There is a HUGE difference between playing a 4 seed and a 10 seed in the second round of the NCAA's.

March 14, 200818 yr Oh, that one. I wish more coaches would adapt that game plan. It is effective against a lot of teams in college hoops today. I think it's the most important part of the game. Lots of coaches seem to disagree.:confused:

Let me ask you what would be better: Having 6 days rest instead of 4 or staying out of the half of the bracket with the #1 seed? Especially if that number 1 ends up being UNC at Charlotte instead of say Tennessee at Detroit. They did themselves no favors tonight.

The announcers made the comment that Pittsburgh has been to the championship game six times in the last seven years.

I don't uderstand the UNC speculation. You think UofL is a 8 seed, where do you see them matching up. This game is easy to break down. UofL got dominated by Pitt's guards. Pitt wanted it more and took it to UofL. Don't let Pitt fool you though, they are good. They have a top 20 RPI and have only loss nine games, playing without their little general Fields most of the season. UofL should of won, but they got beat by the better team tonight. I think UofL's RPI and SOS are still deserving of a four seed, but it would not surprise me if the selection people give them a five.
