It's pretty amazing that people want to blame Bush for gas prices or indifference toward them when Democrats are proposing an $18 billion increase in taxes on oil companies, which will drive gasoline prices higher, while refusing to allow drilling in ANWAR and other areas.

The Bush administration has proposed an energy policy has proposed initiatives that would have slowed the increase of gasoline prices and Congress has nixed all of them. Where is the outrage at Democrats who have proposed nothing to moderate the rate of increase in gasoline prices?

Well that would get in the way of them wanting to blame Bush for everything and does not fit well into their preconceived notions that Republicans and Bush are the reason for everything that they don't like going on in their lives.

Didn't the Democrats promise us that if we only elected the Democrats, they would lower the cost of gasoline? Wasn't gas somewhere around the $2.42 mark then? What happened to that promise?

I believe that promise is filed right behind the promise to return civility to Congress.

Nobody in this thread blamed Bush as far as I know. It is quite funny that our President hadn't heard the news that probably every other American had heard though. That's because he doesn't have to, nor will he ever have to pay for his own gas.

Bush has little if anything to do with gas prices, just like any other President has little if anything to do with gas prices.

In both cases, the problem is that we haven't only elected Democrats... ;)
Sure, if we could only allow Democrats to implement their entire slate of socialist reforms, our economy would soar.:thumb:

Uh, I'm an American and I hadn't heard it until I picked up the paper this morning. Granted I spent yesterday in the field bird hunting (that was a lot of fun in the driving rain) and didn't have access to the radio.
