2. If you are predicting Duece's senior year, he may prove to be better. Based on the last two years, Tim is better statistically and has the hardware to prove it.

 

3. I would take Tim in a sprint race any time.

 

4. Duece will probably get more D-1 looks, because of his size.

 

In summary, both are excellent backs, but only looking at what they have done so far, I'll give Tim the nod. He has had the better high school career. He is more versatile.

I would like to see some support given to someone other than a Quarterback or Runningback. There has to be at least one lineman in the state of Kentucky good enough to be considered for Mr. Football.

I think that Phillips and Finch each have a great chance barring no injuries. But I also believe for a Louisville kid to win Mr. Football he must be hands above the rest to win.

I don't think anyone will disgaree with this concise assessment.

Are we saying that Duece has the best chance of being recrutied and playing RB in college? Or that Duece will get more offers overall? If it's the former then I agree he is a better RB recruit. But if it's the latter then I'd say it's equal, just because Timmy can do so much and that might appeal to different types of schools. I'll say it again, comparing the two is tricky becasue they make people miss in different ways. Definitely fun (and menacing at the same time) to watch the two play.

Looks like Coach Glaser thinks Deuce is at a disadvantage to win because he plays at St. X:

This is the key phrase "barring no injuries". Hasn't Finch been hurt just about every year he's been on X's varsity team? Hasn't that injury slowed the mighty Tigers and possibly preventing X of state titles? No one wishes injury but it's part of the game. IMHO there is no doubt Whiting should win Mr Football, but only if one part of his game is improved upon this year.
